Study On The Impact Of Digital Economy On Industrial Structure Upgrading In Henan Province

At present,China’s economy is moving from a stage of rapid growth to a stage of high-quality development,shifting from an industrial economy to a digital economy,and the status of the digital economy in the national economy is further accentuated.In the current context of globalisation,developing the digital economy and empowering the optimisation and upgrading of industrial structure is a necessary choice to transform the old and new dynamics and achieve high-quality development.The further implementation of major strategies such as the promotion of the rise of the central region has also brought new opportunities for Henan Province to develop a digital economy and promote the upgrading of its industrial structure.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to measure and analyse the development of the digital economy in Henan Province and explore its impact on the upgrading of the industrial structure,in order to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of Henan Province’s economic and social development.This paper uses theoretical analysis combined with empirical research to investigate the impact of the digital economy on the upgrading of the industrial structure in Henan Province.In terms of theoretical analysis,this paper analyses the direct and mediating effects of the digital economy on the upgrading of industrial structure on the basis of combing relevant literature and research results.In terms of empirical investigation,the digital economy indicator system of Henan Province is constructed from four aspects,namely digital foundation,digital application,digital benefit and innovation drive,and a combination of subjective and objective weighting methods is applied.The statistical measurement and analysis of the development of digital economy in Henan Province from 2012 to 2020,and the analysis of the upgrading of industrial structure in Henan Province from two perspectives: rationalisation and advanced.A fixed-effects model was used to investigate the influence mechanism between the digital economy and the upgrading of industrial structure in Henan Province,on the basis of which mediating variables were added to further investigate the role of resource allocation capacity.The findings show that the overall level of digital economy in Henan Province is increasing year by year,and the development of digital economy has a facilitating effect on the upgrading of industrial structure;capital allocation capacity and labour allocation capacity are intermediary channels through which the digital economy affects the upgrading of industrial structure,but capital allocation capacity only has an intermediary effect in the process of digital economy promoting the advanced level of industrial structure.Therefore,corresponding policy recommendations are put forward: accelerate the construction of new infrastructure to enhance the support capacity of industrial development;deeply integrate the digital economy with the real economy to empower the upgrading of industrial structure;establish and improve government mechanisms to optimize the digital economy ecosystem;play the role of digital factor resource allocation to balance regional differences.
