At present,China’s higher education has risen to popularization,the reform and development of higher education has gone through a long historical process.Talent cultivation and output in higher education institutions have played an important role in it.In a new era of international competition,the science technology and industrial changes greatly affect the comprehensive national power enhancement.The fundamental role of science in natural disciplines determines that science talents play a prominent role in the field of science and technology innovation as well as industrial transformation and upgrading.In order to respond to the needs of the times faster and better,government proposes to accelerate the cultivation of high demand talents in science,technology,agriculture and medicine,and constantly improve the quality of high demand talent training.As a basic disciplines,science should respond in time,accelerate the quality of talent training,and lay a strong foundation to serve the national strategic needs.Therefore,it is the strategic need of national science and technology international competition and the realistic demand for the development of higher science education to determine the types of high demand science talents,explore reasonable and efficient ways to cultivate high demand science talents,improve the quality of cultivation of high demand science talents.Based on pragmatism education theory,education endogenous development theory,system theory and social service theory of higher education,this study takes high demand science talents as the research object.Firstly,summarize the current research status of high demand science talent cultivation both domestically and internationally,this study defined the concepts of "science","high demand science talents" and "talent training quality".Secondly,this study used questionnaires among science teachers and students,structured and semi-structured interviews among science specialists as well as other methods,following the idea of "quality expectation--quality assurance--quality effectiveness".Based on expert interviews and research results,this study summarizes and extracts the types of high demand science talents,namely basic research talents,innovation and technology talents,forward-looking strategic talents,industry-oriented application talents and cross-disciplinary composite talents.Through the analysis of the questionnaire and interview results,this study reveals the situation of the quality of high demand science talents cultivation in China and identified the problems: in terms of quality expectation,the concept of high demand science talents lack foresight and foundation,the training goals for high demand science talents urgently need to be adjusted and updated;in terms of quality assurance process,the construction of teaching staff is insufficient,the disproportion between theory and practice.the quality evaluation of high demand science talents cultivation is biased;in terms of quality effectiveness,the unsatisfying overall quality and social effects of high demand science talents cultivation.Secondly,this study selected three typical universities,namely,MIT,Peking University and Nanjing University,and analyzed their practices for quality assurance of high demand science talents cultivation to obtain experience inspiration for reference.Finally,this study proposes countermeasures for quality assurance of high demand science talents in China from three aspects: in terms of quality expectation,establish a concept of cultivating high demand science talents that combines foresight and foundation,establish the goal of cultivating high demand talents to solve the "bottleneck" problem with theoretical support in the past;in terms of quality assurance process,increase policy support and funding for science professions.strengthen the construction of faculty in science professions.promote the construction of science professions practice bases,and improve the assessment mechanism of high demand science talents;in terms of quality effectiveness,strengthen basic research in science and cultivate innovative and scarce talents,grasp the foresight of industrial strategy and cultivate application-oriented high demand talents,build interdisciplinary high demand talent cultivation system to cultivate cross-disciplinary composite talents,improve the quality of cultivating high demand science talents and strengthen the output effectiveness. |
