With the progress of mathematics curriculum reform,mathematics textbooks are also constantly changing.Integrating the advantages of different versions of textbooks can provide assistance for textbook writing and teacher teaching.The quadratic radical is an important component of middle school algebra content.Learning its concepts,properties,and operations can enhance students’ abstract,reasoning,and operational abilities.However,its abstract and logical nature has become one of the difficulties for students to learn and teachers to teach.Therefore,this article selects the secondary radical content of the 2013 edition of the People’s Education Press textbook and the 2013 edition of the Zhejiang Education Press textbook as the research objects.Through methods such as literature research,content analysis,and comparative research,qualitative research is conducted on the textbook arrangement from six aspects: background information,overall framework,chapter arrangement,knowledge point arrangement,section setting,and mathematical culture.The breadth and depth of the textbook content,difficulty of exercises The difficulty of example questions is a quantitative study that focuses on the difficulty of teaching materials.Research has found that both versions of the textbook have a clear overall framework in terms of textbook layout,with the People’s Education Press having more diverse sections and emphasizing the infiltration of mathematical culture;The Zhejiang Education Press textbook places more emphasis on integrity,cleverly creating pre holiday phrases to stimulate students’ interest in learning,with more diverse and hierarchical review questions,and a focus on integrating numbers and shapes.Compared to the People’s Education Press textbook,the Zhejiang Education Press textbook has a higher breadth of content,but slightly lower depth of content,higher knowledge content of exercises,more difficulty in example problems,and more applied problems.However,the People’s Education Press textbook mainly focuses on calculation problems.The proportion of examples and exercises at all levels in the two versions of the textbook is equivalent,and most of them have no actual background.However,the Zhejiang Education Press textbook has much higher examples and exercises with a background in life knowledge than the People’s Education Press textbook.The comprehensive difficulty levels of the People’s Education Press and Zhejiang Education Press textbooks are 1.697 and 1.778 respectively,with Zhejiang Education Press textbooks having a difficulty level of approximately 1.05 times that of the People’s Education Press textbooks.On the basis of the comparative study of the above textbooks,the teaching design of the course "The Nature of the Arithmetic Square Root of Product and Quotient" was reconstructed,and the teaching comparison experiment was carried out.Based on the comparison and practice of the textbooks,the research found that the knowledge points could be enriched by skillfully designing exciting links,infiltrating the history of mathematics,purposefully infiltrating mathematical thinking methods,reconstructing exercises without practical background,and adding exercises at the inquiry level,The classroom is more lively,and students’ exercises are more targeted.
