| The ’wave of migrant workers’ brought about by social transformation,a large number of agricultural migrants have entered cities, gradually showing a trend of family and long-term migration, and early mobility experiences have correspondingly emerged. The overlapping of crucial growth stages and early mobility experiences in an individual’s life journey has had a sustained and profound impact on their personality development, interpersonal communication, and social integration. The academic community has conducted sufficient research on the social integration of rural-urban migrant population, but the research on the social integration of rural-urban migrant population with early mobility experience has not received sufficient attention. Therefore, this article takes rural-urban migrant population with early mobility experience as the entry point, conducts sociological research on the connection between early mobility experience and social integration, and deeply explores the spatiotemporal connection between individuals and society,Expanding and enriching the research perspective of social integration has theoretical value and practical significance. This study takes the life process theory as the research perspective and analytical framework, taking Z City,Henan Province as an example, and selects ten rural-urban migrant populations with early mobility experiences to conduct in-depth oral history interviews.Based on the self description of their life history by the research subjects, key details of individual early mobility experiences are depicted.Regarding the early mobility experiences of the research subjects, combined with the thematic paradigm of life process theory, they are mainly divided into four parts: the background of early mobility experiences, early mobility experiences and school education, personal growth in early mobility experiences, and early mobility experiences and important others. In the process of analyzing early mobility experiences, starting from the rural-urban floating population as "points",connecting the "lines" of interpersonal relationships, the interconnected life events between "points" and "lines",coupled with the background of the events, outline different "faces",which together form an individual’s early mobility experience. On the basis of in-depth analysis of early mobility experiences, this study aims to answer the impact of early mobility experiences on the social integration of rural-urban migrant populations, and provide in-depth thinking and suggestions on how to improve this impact.Under different historical backgrounds, individuals make subjective and rational choices through initiative on the basis of connecting with important others. These choices will cause changes in the life process, leading to differentiation and cumulative effects in subsequent life experiences.Through the interaction of individuals, society and historical background, the life course of rural-urban migrants with early migration experience has been shaped, thus affecting their social integration after adulthood.Research has found that the impact of early mobility experiences on the social integration of rural-urban migrants is mainly achieved through the accumulation of advantages and disadvantages in early mobility experiences. The accumulation of advantages mainly includes social capital and cultural capital accumulated in early mobility experiences. The impact of advantage accumulation on the social integration of rural-urban migrant population mainly includes: at the economic level, helping rural-urban migrant population obtain better employment opportunities; In terms of behavioral relationship adaptation,it has helped the rural-urban migrant population broaden their horizons, master good living habits and humanistic behavior, and form their own unique interpersonal network; At the level of cultural integration,it reduces the difficulty of cultural integration for rural-urban floating population; At the level of identity recognition,it helps the rural-urban migrant population develop a sense of identity towards the city, forming the identity of "half urbanites".The accumulation of disadvantages mainly refers to the inferiority complex, interpersonal negative assets, and helplessness and hostility towards the city accumulated in early mobility experiences. The cumulative impact of disadvantages on the social integration of rural-urban floating population mainly includes: at the economic level, reducing the motivation of rural-urban floating population to pursue economic life.At the level of behavioral relationship adaptation, reduce the connection between rural-urban floating population and society, and become marginalized; At the level of cultural integration, reduce the willingness of rural-urban floating population to integrate culture,so as to embrace urban and rural subculture; At the level of identity,it reduces the trust of rural-urban migrant population in urban population, creates a far psychological distance, and ultimately weakens the sense of belonging of rural-urban migrant population to the city, leading to doubts about their own urban identity.Based on such research findings and reflections, this study proposes to influence the accumulation of advantages and disadvantages generated by early mobility experiences, promote the accumulation of advantages, reduce the accumulation of disadvantages, and thus promote the social integration of rural-urban migrant population. This mainly includes: exerting the leadership role of the state(government),the instrumental role of the market, the role of the family(parents)as an example, the intermediary role of schools, the proactive role of individuals, and the complementary role of social organizations. |
