| With the implementation of the relevant policies of poverty alleviation and relocation, more and more relocated residents have moved from rural areas to cities and towns. However, due to various reasons, most relocated residents choose to go out to work to maintain their livelihoods, resulting in a large number of left-behind children. For the left-behind children who have been separated from their parents for a long time, the lack of parental companionship and care in the critical period of individual growth and development, and the lack of guidance at the level of values are prone to the lack of psychological security. As an important factor affecting the development of individual mental health, the importance of psychological security is reflected in how individuals perceive themselves, others and the world, and the lack of psychological security will adversely affect the physical and mental health of individuals. Therefore,it is necessary to improve the psychological safety of leftbehind children in the resettlement community. This paper takes the left-behind children in T community, the largest povertyalleviation resettlement community in M County,Guizhou Province,as the research object. In the course of the earlier investigation,it is found that the left-behind children in the community generally lack a sense of psychological security, which is manifested in problems such as lack of self-confidence,insufficient perception of safety and danger, lack of interpersonal skills, lack of self-acceptance and weak ability to grasp stressful events. After consulting the data and analyzing the specific situation, the author has analyzed the reasons for the lack of psychological security of the left-behind children from three aspects: individual, family, school and community. In view of the problems existing in the sense of psychological security of left-behind children, this study has guided by Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory and social support theory, and used the approach of group work to complete seven group activities to improve the sense of psychological security of left-behind children with low levels of psychological security in community T,from five aspects of selfacceptance, fearlessness, safety perception and stress control,we could help leftchildren to improve their sense of psychological security. In the end,we have understood service effectiveness through process evaluation and result evaluation. The results of this study showed that through the group work intervention among group members, the interpersonal self-confidence and safety identification and handling ability of group members have been effectively improved, and the group’s goals have been basically achieved. But,there were also some problems, for example, the single method of intervention in social work, the insufficient content of activities, and the ability of social workers to be further strengthened. After these issues are improved,it is believed that social work could achieve better outcomes in the process of intervening on the left-behind group of children. |
