| With the implementation of the double-reduction policy, primary school students spend more time in school, and the difference in self-management ability is prominent. The role of family education has gradually been attached importance. As a kind of parenting style, overparenting means that parents give excessive support to children, control their behavior more, and fail to give children the autonomy appropriate for their age. This parenting style ignores the development of children’s autonomy, making it difficult for them to cope with various difficulties in later life.Studies have pointed out that overparenting has a wide range of negative effects on children’s well-being,not only leading to the reduction of children’s sense of self-efficacy,but also indirectly affecting anxiety, depression, life satisfaction and physical health through self-efficacy.Other studies have pointed out that parental rearing styles have different effects on different dimensions of children’s self-management ability. However, there is no research on the relationship between overparenting and children’s self-management ability, and the scope of overparenting research mainly focuses on college students or middle school students, with little attention to primary school students. Therefore, this study examines whether overparenting will have an impact on pupils’ self-management ability mediated by self-efficacy.This study consists of two parts: In the first study,a questionnaire survey was used to investigate the relationship between over-parenting,self-efficacy and self-management ability of 534 primary school students. In the second study, group psychological counseling was used to intervene the self-efficacy of primary school students.Twenty-four students with no significant difference between self-efficacy and self-management ability were divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group was given group counseling for 10 times, and the control group did not do any intervention except have mental health class. The results show that:1.There is a significant negative correlation between overparenting and self-efficacy.There is a significant negative correlation between overparenting and self-management ability. There is a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and self-management ability.2.Self-efficacy plays a mediating role between overparenting and self-management ability.3.Group psychological counseling activities based on self-efficacy can effectively improve the self-efficacy of primary school students and improve their self-management ability.Specifically, after group counseling, the level of self-efficacy and self-management ability of the experimental group were significantly improved. The level of self-efficacy and self-management ability in the control group had no significant change without intervention. The study preliminarily revealed the relationship between overparenting and self-management ability and its internal mechanism, and verified that the cultivation of self-efficacy has a better intervention effect on improving self-management ability of primary school student. The research has enriched the theoretical knowledge in the field of education and self-management ability, and also provided an important intervention path and program for the training of self-management ability of primary school students. |
