With the entry of freshmen in the autumn of 2014,the new college entrance examination system began to implement in some provinces in China.The new college entrance examination system does not restrict the liberal arts and science subjects,and the geography course has become one of the subjects that every student can choose.The new college entrance examination system,the new geography teaching materials,and the new curriculum standards have posed new challenges to the teaching and learning of geography.Originally students in this stage need to learn more subjects,and more difficultly.Compared with individual subjects,some knowledge is more abstract and not easy to understand.Especially for some students with weak basic knowledge and poor learning habits,it is particularly difficult to learn geographic knowledge in limited years or even a shorter time and form a certain geographical literacy.Although many students work very hard in geography learning,the efficiency is very poor,the scores are always low.In this regard,it is particularly important to improve the efficiency of geography learning.There are many factors which can affect geography learning efficiency,and some factors are difficult to do specific quantitative research,such as teachers ’teaching styles,teaching methods,personal charm,students’ attention to geography,interest in geography,learning style,learning habits,the influence of the family,school and social environment and so on.In this study,the main factors that students can allocate independently,such as learning time in and after the class,seriousness,and money spent on geography learning,are selected to study the efficiency of geography learning for senior high school students combined with the results of students’ geography examination,and analyze and explore the strategies that can improve the efficiency of learning geography.This paper based on the existing related research,under the guidance of cognitive learning theory,combining the students themselves,such as gender,age,household registration information,interest in geography degree,emphasis,learning habits,time and money for learning geography,geography exam scores,designs "a questionnaire for senior high school students’ learning efficiency and promotion strategies on geography".The data envelope analysis was used to analyze and process the collected questionnaire data.And the specific value of geography learning efficiency for senior high school students was analyzed.Then,the main influencing factors of geography learning efficiency are analyzed by the obtained quantitative results,and the strategies and methods to improve the geography learning efficiency of high school students based on the perspective of students are explored.The main conclusions are as follows: first,most students’ efficiency in learning geography is low and needs to be improved;second,students’ gender,age,household registration,learning methods,the degree of interest in geography and the degree of attention to geography have no significant impact on their geography learning efficiency;third,students’ learning habits are significantly related to their geography learning efficiency,and the better the learning habits are,the higher the learning efficiency is;fourth,students’ strategies to improve the efficiency of learning geography: cultivating good learning habits,paying attention to the enhancement of efficiency awareness,and mastering scientific learning methods and so on.It is hoped that this study will finally provide strong support for the improvement of geography learning efficiency for senior high school students. |
