In 2021,the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and General Office of the State Council issued Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Excessive Homework and Off-Campus Tutoring for Students Undergoing Compulsory Education(referred to as“Double Reduction”),which advocated student-oriented educational principle and observation of educational laws so as to promote the all-round development of students. As the basic unit for implementing the new curriculum reform, each class is the primary-level organization where students learn at school.According to Ye Lan,only by“giving classes back to students”,can a high-quality class education environment be provided for the sake of healthy growth of each student and autonomous development of students be realized to the maximum extent. This requires class advisors,in their class management work,to attach due importance to the cultivation of independence and autonomy of students and adhere to the educational concept of “human-oriented,all-round development”.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore student autonomy in class management of junior high schools in the new era.Based on the theoretical framework of humanism, this paper took two middle schools in District J as the research objects and drew on the previous research literature at home and abroad during the preparation of the Questionnaire on the Status Quo of Students Autonomy in Class Management of Junior High Schools and the Outline of Interviews on Student Autonomy in Class Management of Junior High Schools. Then, with the help of SPSS,it carried out a statistical analysis of the survey results and fully presented the status quo of student autonomy in junior high school classes.Secondly,it also conducted qualitative research on the interview results of students, teachers, school leaders and parents, etc.,to comprehensively reveal the deep-level influencing factors of student autonomy in class management in junior high schools. Finally, according to the status quo and influencing factors of student autonomy in class management of junior high schools,it put forward corresponding policy suggestions. This study finds that junior high school students class autonomy management exists in the following status quo :(1)Although students are highly aware that they should participate in class management, they do not have many opportunities to do so,and their enthusiasm is obviously not high;(2)Significant differences exist among students, and most students do not have self-management capabilities;(3)Schools and parents pay little attention to the cultivation of students’ independent management ability. At the same time, the study believes that the main influencing factors that cause the current status quo are as follows:(1)Class advisors have not reformed or changed their understanding of class autonomous management in a timely manner;teachers of each subject have not highly motivated to participate in class management;some teachers have a weak theoretic basis in class management and their management skills are at a low level;(2)The schools have not carried out in-depth class self-management activities, and neither do they have any mechanism to guarantee it;(3)Some parents still hold outdated beliefs about education and neglect the cultivation of students’ self-management capabilities. In view of the status quo and influencing factors of student autonomy in class management of junior high schools, the following suggestions are put forward.(1)Schools need to pay more attention to and establish and improve the class management system;(2)Teachers need to change management concepts and methods and further improve their management capabilities;(3)Students need to continuously exercise to improve their self-management capabilities;(4)Parents need to update their educational concepts and actively participate in home-school cooperation. |
