The professional development of teachers is the process of teachers’ self-renewal and self-growth.The needs of teachers’ professional development can improve the enthusiasm and initiative of teachers to a certain extent,so as to improve the professional quality of teachers.The improvement of the quality of teachers will also have a very important impact on the quality of preschool education.In this paper,teachers working in public and private kindergartens are taken as the research objects,and literature,questionnaire and interview methods are used to study the overall level of professional development needs of teachers in public and private kindergartens,the differences of demand level under different demographic variables and the influencing factors.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)In the overall level of professional development needs,the demand level of public kindergarten teachers is higher than that of private kindergarten teachers.(2)Under different demographic variables,there are significant differences between public and private kindergarten teachers in professional concept,ethics,professional knowledge and professional ability,and there are common needs and different needs.(3)The factors affecting the professional development needs of teachers in public kindergartens and private kindergartens mainly include three aspects,namely,the social level,the kindergarten level and the personal level of teachers.Through the analysis of the above content,three problems exist in the needs of teacher professional development,and put forward three suggestions: teacher professional development training should be more targeted to effectively meet the needs of teacher professional development;Improve the environment and material support to improve the satisfaction of teachers’ professional development needs;Strengthen teachers’ professional knowledge,professional ability,professional philosophy and ethics educ.
