| The reform and development of higher education should be based on supply reform. In the context of the national innovation driven strategy, higher education should improve the adaptability of human capital in the labor market and lead the country’s economic structure towards optimization. The contribution of higher education to economic growth motivates society as consumers to demand high-quality and high-level educational products.Human capital,as the fundamental driving force for optimizing structure and promoting industrial development, plays a key factor in achieving sustainable economic development and promoting social progress. As one of the subsystems of society, the rapid expansion of higher education has caused imbalances in other social subsystems, leading to a series of problems such as imbalanced allocation of higher education resources and uneven development among regions.Whether the supply of higher education can be coordinated with the industrial structure, promoting high-speed,stable,and sustainable economic development is crucial for the connotative development of higher education,as well as solving practical problems such as college student employment. This study applies the theory of human capital and the theory of internal and external laws of education to analyze the current situation of higher education supply and industrial structure, and calculates the coupling coordination degree of the two.Based on this,a spatial model is constructed and its spatial effects are analyzed, and the path choice for China’s higher education reform from the perspective of supply is drawn. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The expansion of higher education has shown initial results, basically meeting the differential needs of the socialist market economy system and modernization construction. The enrollment scale at all levels is constantly expanding, presenting a "pyramid" structure, and the changes in the number of students in various disciplines are consistent with the development trend of the industrial structure. The deviation degree of China’s overall industrial structure is gradually approaching zero, and the tertiary industry is more coordinated than the primary and secondary industries. This indicates that China’s industrial structure is continuously optimized, overall benefits are steadily improving, and a good cycle of high resource utilization and high economic benefits has gradually formed.(2)The correlation between the internal structure and industrial structure of higher education supply is relatively high, calculated using principal component analysis, grey correlation analysis,Moore structure values, and Granger causality test. The industrial structure of our country is basically matched with the scale structure of higher education, showing some lag with the hierarchical structure and low interaction with the disciplinary structure, but it can drive the adjustment and change of the industrial structure. The coupling model calculates that the degree of coordination between the supply of higher education and the industrial structure is an "olive shaped" pattern, with fewer high-quality coordination and severe imbalance, and more primary coordination and barely coordinated.Using nuclear density maps to verify,it was found that the coupling coordination degree in most regions of China is decreasing.(3)The coupling between higher education supply and industrial structure has a significant spatial spillover effect.Using the Moran’s I index,it was found that the coupling coordination between the supply of higher education and the upgrading of industrial institutions has a significant positive clustering effect. The areas with high concentration are mainly concentrated in the developed eastern coastal areas, while the areas with low concentration are mainly concentrated in the western regions. The scale and structure of higher education have a significant impact. It was found that except for the significant negative effects of human capital level and higher education level, all other factors showed significant positive effects.Further divide the entire sample data into 2020 to 2010 and2009 to 2000 in chronological order. It was found that the level and hierarchical structure of human capital in the early stages(2000-2009)did not show a negative effect, while in terms of spatial effects, the scale level and hierarchical structure of higher education showed a significant negative effect; The significant negative impact of technological progress and service industry level shift in the later stage(2010-2020).Based on the above conclusions, this article proposes to improve the efficiency and efficiency of higher education factor allocation to meet the requirements of economic transformation;Emphasize a talent cultivation model that focuses on innovative abilities and improve the quality of talent supply;Adjust the internal structure of higher education appropriately to achieve dynamic balance of industrial structure... |
