| With the rapid increase in innovation cost and shortening of response time required by market, enterprises are facing an more and more complex environment. Therefore, the risk and cost of independent research and development are getting higher and higher. To maintain competitive advantages, enterprises turn to seek the help of external resources. Moreover, the suppliers are an essential source of obtaining external resources. In the current study, most of the research about supplier’s influence on the enterprise innovation is focused on the innovation behavior, cooperative behavior of the supplier, and supplier relationship management networkability. As regard to the content of the suppliers quality, there is few researches on the influence on innovation of textile enterprises, the studies are mainly focused on high-tech industry. As to the textile industry, correlational studies are rarer. In terms of content characteristics, product diversity and geographical distribution diversity of core suppliers reflect the richness of heterogeneous knowledge resources. Therefore, this article is based on a knowledge-based view, ambidexterity innovation theory and resource dependence theory are the theoretical basis. The core supplier’s product diversity and geographic diversity as independent variables, the innovation is divided into exploratory innovation and exploitative innovation.Based on the data of textile enterprises,we try to explore the influence of supplier’s product diversity and geographic diversity on exploratory innovation and exploitative innovation.Because that we collect the questionnaire data from 182 textile enterprises in Nantong City,Jiangsu Province,a hypothesis model was constructed for empirical verification. The results show that core supplier’s product diversity has a negative impact on exploratory innovation, but no strong effect on exploitative innovation.Core supplier’s geographic diversity positively influence the exploratory innovation and has a positive impact on exploitative innovation. This paper enrich the theoretical content of enterprise innovation and provides a new idea for the transformation and upgrading of the textile industry. |
