| Inbound tourism has grown to be an essential component of modern tourism.Countries are preparing and redeveloping tourism resources in order to attract more foreign tourists and investment.The focus of tourism authorities has shifted to how to build a scientific and effective inbound tourism development strategy.This dissertation use qualitative research methodologies and begins in St.Petersburg to investigate the current state of inbound tourism development in the Russian Federation,particularly the obstacles and development strategies confronting inbound tourism.This study analyzes the difficulties and reasons for the development of inbound tourism in the world and the Russian Federation,and,using empirical analysis explores the feasible path for Russia to improve inbound tourism and defines the strategic links for inbound tourism development in the Russian Federation.The study found that although many factors(such as political and economic factors)affect the development of inbound tourism in St.Petersburg,Russia,the main challenge is still insufficient supporting infrastructure for tourism facilities,which constitutes an obstacle to attracting private investment in tourism.In response to these problems,St.Petersburg has taken a series of measures,such as: strengthening tourism marketing and providing information support for tourists;attaching importance to international tourism image and strengthening the security of tourists;improving transportation infrastructure and realizing the modernization of public passenger transport. |
