Research On The Impact Of New Urbanization On Farmers' Income In Sichuan Provinc

The development of urbanization has always been a hot issue to which the Party Central Committee and the government attach great importance.In recent years,the rapid development of urbanization has largely improved the lives of urban and rural residents and promoted economic and social development,however,the excessive and disorderly old urbanization has also brought some negative effects.A new-type urbanization strategy that meets the requirements of the new era is proposed.The issue of "three rural areas" has always been a development point strongly advocated by the state,which is related to the well-being of people’s livelihood,economic development,and social stability,and the comprehensive promotion of rural construction is the key to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.How to promote the increase of farmers’ income is also one of the important and difficult points in the "three rural issues".Compared with traditional urbanization,the new-type urbanization emphasizes people-oriented and quality-first,which effectively protects the interests of farmers.The development of new-type urbanization in Sichuan Province is further hindered by its late start,poor foundation,lack of rational structure,and large differences between regions.From the perspective of farmers’ income,Sichuan province has a large rural population base,and there are problems of low overall level,unbalanced income,unbalanced development between regions,and large urban-rural differences in farmers’ income.As a large population province and an economic development pioneer in the western region,it is important to explore how to realize farmers’ income increase in the process of new-type urbanization.Starting from the current situation of new-type urbanization development and farmers’ income in Sichuan Province,this paper analyzes the development status and problems in detail.Using the five dimensions of population,economy,society,environment,and urban-rural integration as the measurement index system,the entropy value method has been applied to comprehensively evaluate the new-type urbanization level of 21 cities in Sichuan Province from 2010 to 2019,and it has been compared and analyzed.Then,using the derived new-type urbanization level of each city as the core explanatory variables,an empirical study on the impact of new urbanization on rural residents’ income in Sichuan Province was conducted.Finally,certain policy recommendations are given based on the research findings.The main findings of this paper are:(1)the overall level of new-type urbanization development in Sichuan province is low,and the rest of the cities except the provincial capital city Chengdu are basically still at a low level of urbanization;(2)farmers’ income in Sichuan province has long been and still is below the national average,but the government has made some efforts in financial support for agriculture;(3)the new-type urbanization in Sichuan province has a(3)New-type urbanization in Sichuan Province has a significant contribution to the increase of farmers’ income,and the contribution effect is more significant for farmers in the middle and low-income groups.In response to the above findings,the following policy recommendations are proposed: first,peopleoriented,sharing,and building;second,innovation-led,city-industry integration;third,ecological priority,green intensification;fourth,urban-rural integration,coordinated development;and fifth,site-specific,common development.
