Abstract/Summary:
Land is the guarantee of farmers’ survival and the cornerstone of agricultural development. With the development of the times and social economy, problems such as scattered production and small scale are becoming more and more obvious, and land circulation is developing accordingly.According to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics,in 2018,the transfer area of household contracted cultivated land in China exceeded 5.3 million mu.Such large-scale land circulation will definitely have an impact on farmers’ production and life.Livelihood capital is the foundation of farmers’ development, and land resources are the most important livelihood capital of farmers. It is particularly important to stabilize land management and promote farmers’ sustainable livelihood. In this thesis, based on the micro-data of 2014 and 2018 of Peking University China Family Dynamic Tracking Survey Database, the measurement index system of farmers’ livelihood capital is constructed on the basis of the sustainable livelihood framework theory, and the entropy method is used to set the index weight and measure the livelihood capital. This paper discusses the influence of rural land circulation behavior on farmers’ livelihood capital by using the double difference model, makes empirical analysis around land circulation and land circulation with the help of Stata software, and then tests the robustness of PSM-DID model to verify the credibility of DID model estimation results. Then,it compares the influence results of land circulation and land circulation on farmers’ livelihood capital and analyzes the differences. The results show that:(1)On the basis of controlling time-varying and differential effects, land circulation has a significant positive impact on farmers’ total livelihood capital. From the perspective of land inward transfer and land outward transfer, land inward transfer has a significant positive impact on natural capital, material capital, financial capital and human capital of farmers.Land outward transfer has a significant positive impact on farmers’ financial capital, human capital and environmental capital, and a significant negative impact on farmers’ social capital.(2)There are differences in the impact of land circulation on farmers’ livelihood capital, and the differences are mainly reflected in the overall and individual aspects.Generally speaking, land inward transfer and land outward transfer have different impacts on farmers’ total livelihood capital, and the effect of land inward transfer on increasing livelihood capital is more significant.Specifically, the difference between the influence of land inward transfer and land outward transfer on farmers’ livelihood capital is reflected in the object and degree of influence.(3)Farmers whose land has been transferred out may have potential livelihood vulnerability in terms of social capital. Finally, based on the result of empirical test and research conclusions,in order to reduce the hidden dangers of farmers’ livelihood vulnerability, further protect diversified farmers’ livelihood capital, and promote farmers’ long-term transfer of land management rights, this thesis puts forward some suggestions from two aspects: land inward circulation to households and land outward circulation to households. For farmers who rent land,it is suggested to improve the construction of rural medical facilities, rural recreational facilities and rural informatization. For farmers whose land has been transferred out,it is suggested to increase employment training and guidance, encourage farmers to change from land security to social security and commercial insurance, protect the legitimate rights and interests of farmers in cities, and broaden the ways for migrant workers and urban residents to obtain social networks and resources.
