| Innovation is the primary driving force of economic and social development and the basic power of sustainable development of firms.Exploring the impact of different innovation capabilities on firm performance is an important topic.Organizational innovation dual core model points innovation will be divided into technology innovation(TI)and management innovation(MI),although existing studies have separately discussed the impact mechanism of MI and TI on firm performance,few scholars have considered the impact of dual core innovation capability and the matching of the two on firm performance.Based on the perspective of organizational ambidexterity,we research the relationship between the matching degree of MI ability and TI ability and firm performance.In addition,the reputation effect brought by innovation ability lacks due attention.In this paper,corporate reputation is incorporated into the relationship model between innovation ability and firm performance,and the possible reputation effect brought by innovation and the mediating role of reputation are discussed.Thirdly,innovation research calls for considering the influence of institutional factors,and the potential impact of marketization degree,as an important institutional environmental factor,on innovation performance has not attracted academic attention.This paper examines the moderating role of marketization degree in the relationship between innovation and performance.Taking A-share listed firms from 2011 to 2020 as research objects,we examine the impact of TI ability,MI ability and their matching on firm performance,as well as the mediating effect of corporate reputation on the relationship between different innovation ability and firm performance,and considers the moderating effect of marketization degree.The results show that:(1)There is a positive relationship between management innovation capability and firm performance,and there is a significant positive relationship between technology innovation capability lag of 3 periods and firm performance.(2)The unbalance of management innovation capability and technology innovation capability has a significant negative relationship with firm performance,while the combination of management innovation capability and technology innovation capability has a significant positive relationship with firm performance.(3)Management innovation ability can bring reputation effect,but technology innovation ability can not bring reputation effect,and corporate reputation plays a partial mediating role.(4)The degree of marketization can negatively moderate the positive relationship between innovation ability and performance.This paper has important theoretical and practical values:First,the research perspective based on organizational ambidexterity deepens the research on different innovation capabilities and firm performance and provides some references for the subsequent research.Secondly,the paper discusses the reputation effect brought by innovation ability and the mechanism of innovation ability’s effect on performance from the perspective of reputation,so as to enrich the research perspective of the relationship between innovation and firm performance.Thirdly,it analyzes the moderating effect of institutional environment factors,and responds to the appeal of institutional factors in innovation management research.Fourthly,it deepens enterprises’ understanding of different innovation capabilities and better guides enterprises to play the role of the two innovation capabilities.(1)Enterprises can develop management innovation ability and technology innovation ability in a balanced way;(2)In order to establish a good corporate reputation,managers may increase the investment intensity of management innovation;(3)Under the institutional environment of low degree of marketization,enterprises should strengthen the construction of management innovation ability and technological innovation ability... |
