General Secretary Xi Jinping has stressed that agricultural and rural work should focus on the income growth of rural residents. In the process of eliminating absolute poverty and accelerating the construction of rural areas, the income level of rural residents in Guangxi has been greatly improved. However,it should also be seen that the income growth of rural residents is somewhat volatile due to natural factors, market factors and other aspects.Studying the optimization path of rural residents’ income structure is of great significance to enhance the ability of rural residents to resist risks and keep the income level of rural residents in a stable and progressive development direction. This paper collates the changes in the income structure of rural residents and the sustainability and stability of income growth through literature review and theoretical review, studies the changes in the income structure of rural residents and the sustainability and stability of income growth in Guangxi through statistical analysis, analyses the correlation between the changes in the income structure of rural residents and the sustainability and stability of income growth in Guangxi through grey correlation model, and analyses the correlation between the changes in the income structure of rural residents and the sustainability and stability of income growth in Guangxi through static panel The impact of changes in the income structure of rural residents in Guangxi on the sustainability and stability of income growth is analyzed empirically through static panel model and dynamic panel model, and finally relevant policy recommendations are put forward based on the findings. The main findings of this paper are: 1.The adjustment of the proportion of household business income and wage income of rural residents in Guangxi has a double effect on the income growth of rural residents.Increasing the proportion of household business income can significantly enhance the sustainability of income growth on the one hand, but significantly reduce the stability of income growth on the other hand;increasing the proportion of wage income can significantly enhance the sustainability of income growth on the one hand, and reduce the stability of income growth to a certain extent on the other hand.2.The effects of regulating the proportion of property income and wage income of rural residents in Guangxi on the income growth of rural residents are consistent. The impact on income growth is consistent.Reducing the proportion of transfer income can significantly enhance the sustainability of income growth, and also significantly enhance the stability of income growth;increasing the proportion of property income can significantly enhance the sustainability of income growth, and also enhance the stability of income growth to a certain extent. The main countermeasures of this paper are: 1.reduce the proportion of transfer income of rural residents in Guangxi, and increase the proportion of property income;2.flexibly adjust the proportion of household business and wage income, and appropriately reduce the proportion of household business and wage income when the objective is to enhance the stability of income growth of rural residents;increase the proportion of household business and wage income when the objective is to enhance the sustainability of income growth of rural residents. When the goal is to enhance the stability of income growth of rural residents, the proportion of household business and wage income should be reduced;when the goal is to enhance the sustainability of income growth of rural residents, the proportion of household business and wage income should be increased.
