As the development of digital economy at home and abroad continues to accelerate,with deepened integration with the real economy,the manufacturing industry has seen a trend of smartization.For manufacturing enterprises,the transformation of smart manufacturing is key to maintaining competitive,and moving towards carbon neutrality as well.However,how to implement and manage intelligent manufacturing is the fundamental problem that many enterprises encounter,which also leads to the dilemma of manufacturing transformation: as the smart manufacturing transformation is imminent yet the transformation requires tremendous investment but has not generated huge benefits,the enterprises act in an overcautious and difficult manner.This thesis takes JQ Company,a traditional manufacturer,as the research object,referring to the relevant research outcomes on smart manufacturing theory by Chinese and international scholars.Through field research,it concludes three major problems in the manufacturing system of JQ Company,namely,the lack of process management,chaotic production scenes and weak digital foundation,the essential reasons for which lie in the lack of advanced production management awareness of managers,ineffective utilization of production process data and lack of coordination and connection between management information systems.Targeting at the realities of JQ Company,this thesis proposes corresponding strategies for smart manufacturing transformation.Firstly,regarding the plan for transformation,it is essential to build a smart manufacturing management system with manufacturing execution system(MES)as the core to realize the overall management of ERP,PLM and other software systems,and materialize the automation and smart on-site management of JQ Company’s production scheduling,manufacturing process,execution tracking,performance tasks and other core production links through various functional modules of the MES system.Secondly,as for implementation,JQ Company has defined clear goals and scope of transformation before implementation,and by using relevant theories and tools of lean production,established the organization structure,communication mechanism and production system suitable for smart manufacturing transformation.Meanwhile,JQ Company has formulated detailed plan and schedule in accordance with the overall progress and target timeline for transformation to ensure smooth implementation.Finally,as for the outcomes,JQ Company,by carrying out smart manufacturing transformation,has solved three major problems that impeded its development before the transformation and remarkably improved major economic indicators such as the value of work-in-progress,number of workers,output value per unit area and per capita hourly output.Finally,by analyzing the implementation process and results,this thesis comes up with the key elements for the success of the JQ’s transformation and taking it as example gives referential and universal recommendations for traditional enterprises to transform into smart manufacturer at the management level and the implementation level.
