Does The West Land And Sea New Channel Promote The Export Of China To SCO Members

The "West Land and Sea New Channel" effectively connects the multimodal transport of sea,land and air,further shortens the space distance of western China’s exports,and has important strategic significance in promoting the high-quality development of the "the Belt and Road".As an important regional international organization,the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is committed to maintaining regional peace and stability,strengthening regional economic and trade and people-topeople and cultural cooperation,and bringing new opportunities and possibilities for good-neighborly and friendly cooperation between regions.China has a long history of trade exchanges with the SCO region.The promotion of the new land and sea channel strategy in the west will theoretically promote the further export of both sides.At present,domestic new route of West Land and Sea New Channel trade to the SCO member states mainly focuses on qualitative analysis,but the quantitative research is still less.Therefore,based on theoretical analysis,this paper selects the export data of22 provinces to the SCO member states by using the synthetic control method and combining the differences-in-differences method,and uses the idea of "counterfactual estimation".This paper makes an empirical analysis and test on the export of some provinces in western China to SCO countries.The structure of this paper is arranged as follows: the introduction includes the research background and significance,research methods and content,and literature review;The first chapter describes the West Land and Sea New Channel involved in the region and China’s trade status with the SCO member states,and analyzes the characteristics and facts.The second chapter analyzes the mechanism of export promotion of the West Land and Sea New Channel in the west and puts forward the related hypothesis.The third chapter selects the relevant provinces to carry out the empirical analysis of the exports of the SCO member states to verify the hypothesis.The fourth chapter,based on the conclusion of the metrological study,puts forward some policy suggestions for the development of the West Land and Sea New Channel.In this text,it is found that the West Land and Sea New Channel promotes the export of relevant provinces to SCO member states,but the effect is different.It has obvious effect on Guangxi,Shaanxi and Ningxia,but not obvious effect on Yunnan,Guizhou and Hainan.The marginal contribution of this paper is based on the "counterfactual" thought for the first time,combining the synthetic control method and the differences-in-differences method to study the export effect of the West Land and Sea New Channel.In order to continue to promote the construction of the West Land and Sea New Channel in the future,it is proposed to promote the integrated development of port traffic and logistics in Guangxi,play the leading role of Shaanxi and enhance the export potential of Ningxia.Furthermore,we should learn from the relevant regional export experience and expand the product export scale advantage and other relevant suggestions.
