Service industry plays an important role in the global economy.With the development of economic globalization and the wave of technological revolution,service trade is gradually becoming a new engine for the trade development of various countries,and service trade competitiveness has become an important symbol of a country’s comprehensive strength and economic development level.With the continuous optimization of China’s opening pattern,China’s service trade has made great progress,but there is still a big gap compared with the level of international competitiveness.Asean is the largest trading partner of China,the economic and trade relationship between the two countries is close,the trade basis is close,therefore,this article will be based on the service trade data of China and ASEAN countries,explore the differences in the overall status quo of trade in services,competitiveness and influencing factors,and then help promote the transformation and industrial structure adjustment of China’s service trade.This paper is divided into five parts.First of all,the introduction introduces the research background and significance of this paper,the review and evaluation of the existing research results,as well as the framework,methods,innovation and deficiencies of this research.Secondly,it defines the relevant concepts of service trade,and discusses the influence mechanism of service trade competitiveness based on relevant theories,so as to provide theoretical basis for the research.Thirdly,the data of China’s and ASEAN’s trade in services from 2012 to 2021 are selected to analyze the overall situation of both sides’ trade in services from three dimensions: scale of trade in services,deficit and export structure.Using TC index and RCA index to construct competitiveness evaluation system,comparative analysis is made on service trade competitiveness between China and ASEAN countries.Then,on the basis of Porter’s Diamond model,explanatory variables are selected from four key factors of production factors,demand,related supporting industries and enterprise strategy.With RCA as the explained variable,empirical analysis is carried out on China and ASEAN respectively to obtain the influence of influencing factors on both sides.Compare the difference of influence between developed area and less developed area.Finally,the research conclusion is drawn,and the competitiveness of our service trade is improved.The conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)Our service trade scale continues to expand,but the deficit exists but shrinks year by year.The structure of export sector presents diversified development,which is more competitive advantage than ASEAN countries.(2)The overall competitiveness of Chinese service trade is weaker than that of ASEAN countries.From the perspective of the sub-industries,the structure of both sides of trade is biased to the traditional industry,and the competitiveness of the emerging service industry is still to some extent from that of the world level.(3)Based on the empirical study,it is found that the capital factors,demand conditions and enterprise strategic structure of production factors will promote the competitiveness of service trade,while related and supporting industries will inhibit the development of competitiveness.From the results of heterogeneous grouping,the influencing factors differ significantly under different economic levels,and the results show that the effect is more significant in the less developed areas in central and western China.
