Performance appraisal,as an important subject in the internal management of modern enterprises,will effectively enhance the working motivation of employees,stimulate the development vitality of enterprises,improve organizational performance,and ensure the smooth completion of organizational goals,so as to realize the long-term development of the organization.Therefore,to establish a set of effective performance appraisal system and design a set of scientific and reasonable performance evaluation indicators suitable for container yard industry in order to enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises has extremely important and practical significance for the sustainable development of the traditional Qingdao depots typically like SS company.In this paper,front-line staff of SS Company is taken as the research object.Based on the review of their performance appraisal status,the problems existing in their performance appraisal work are deeply analyzed.Additionally,under the guidance of relevant theories of performance appraisal system,appropriate tools and methods are adopted to improve the performance appraisal system of front-line staff.Firstly,the concepts and theories of front-line staff,performance appraisal,performance appraisal system,key performance indicators(KPI)are summarized,and the relevant domestic and foreign literature and the development of employee performance appraisal theory are studied to provide theoretical basis for the subsequent discussion.Secondly,the questionnaire survey method and interview method are adopted comprehensively to carry out the research work within the employees of the enterprise aiming at diagnosing the current situation of performance appraisal.Then the research results are analyzed to summarize the outstanding problems existing in the performance appraisal system and explore the reasons for their formation.Thirdly,KPI performance appraisal method is applied to analyze the performance appraisal indicators at company level,department level and post level,and combined with the job responsibilities of front-line staff,and then the performance appraisal indicators of front-line staff are extracted.The performance appraisal system is designed according to the performance appraisal status and job responsibilities of front-line staff in SS Company.Finally,this paper puts forward the suggestions to establish and improve the system of organization,regulation,culture,training,technical support and so on related to the employee performance appraisal in order to provide a comprehensive guarantee for the smooth operation of the improvement design scheme for performance appraisal system.
