As the common traction equipment in modern industrial production process, winch is widely used in mining, ports, construction, marine, factories and many other fields. Mining winch is the most common transport equipment that used in coal mine, and its performance is directly related to the mine production efficiency and the workers safety. However, the existing mining winch has hidden safety problems in using process. While pneumatic winch has high safety coefficient, its traction speed is slow. This thesis designs and studies a more practical pneumatic winch, which has good performance of remote control. It can directly use the existing air source supplied by mining forced air self rescue system, and has good economic benefit and development prospect.This thesis studies and analyzes the operating characteristics of pneumatic winch, determines the design requirements. The overall design scheme of pneumatic winch, including mechanical transmission scheme and pneumatic system scheme, is put forward. Referring to the existing winch, the design parameters of pneumatic winch is formulated. The drum and planetary gear transmission system of pneumatic winch also are designed and checked, according to the corresponding design principles.Finite element analysis on the drum structure of pneumatic winch is carried out by ANSYS software, obtaining stress and deformation nephogram. The stress and deformation distributions are obtained, and the analysis result verifies the drum structure is reasonable.The planetary gear transmission system virtual prototype of pneumatic winch is built by ADAMS software, and the kinematics simulation result proves that the planetary gear transmission system can meet the transmission requirement of pneumatic winch.According to the performance requirement of pneumatic winch, the pneumatic system of pneumatic winch is designed in detail. And the simplified model of pneumatic system is established by AMESim software, simulation result shows that the pneumatic system is reasonable.
