Guangxi Guanyang Dialect Features And Attribution

The dialect of the south of Hunan and the north of Guangxi and Guangdong are Complicated, the study of which is a popular reseraching field of linguistics. Guanyang, a remote country, is located in the north of Guangxi. so far, no comprehensive and deep research has touched upon Guangyang dialect. There are controversical arguments about its attribu-tion till now. This thesis tries to explain its characteristics and attribution by using abundant linguistic materials which are based on extensive practi-cal investigation This thesis consists of eight parts.The first part: Guanyang' s location, population and condition of languages.The second part: the initial consonants, vowels and tones of Guanyang dialect.The third part: the harmonious relation of Guanyang dialect' s initial consonants, vowels, tones.The forth part: Guanyang dialect' s phonetic features.The fifth part: the homonym form of Guanyang dialect.The sixth part: Comparison of Guanyang dialect and its related di-alects. This part compares Guanyang dialect with Guilin, Dong' an, Changsha dialect and illustrates its characteristics more specifically.The seventh part: Guanyang dialect' s attribution and its contribut-ing factor. This part proposes that Guangyang dialect is a branch of "xi-ang" dialect by the comprehensive comparison and makes a synchronic and diachronic study on its phonetic features.The eight part: the surplus argument.
