Research On The Port Resource Integration Of Pearl River Delta Based On The Views Of Sustainable Development

With the accelerating of port economic development, research on port should be based on the views of sustainable development and embody the whole coordinated development of society. Under the principle of making overall plans and taking all factors into consideration, port development should be able to drive the economy of surrounded industrial zones thus realizing the overall social modernization on the one hand, and take into account of the human living environment thus improving the quality of lives on the other. Under the transition of port management system and the transformation of domestic and foreign economic situation, integration theory of port resources has been established in this research based on views of sustainable development. By applying the sustainable development theory, the economics, the management science, the system science and by taking reference of the integration of port resources in domestic and foreign typical areas, theoretical analysis viewing from economics has been given on the integration of port resources. Frame of port resource integration has been designed out through the management diagnosis of port resources in Pearl River Delta. Corresponding policy guarantees have been put forward in this dissertation.Firstly, the current situation of port resources in Pearl River Delta has been analyzed. By defining the scope of Pearl River Delta, its general conditions have been analyzed including the engineering economic conditions of the main ports in Pearl River Delta. Further evaluation on allocation plan of those ports in Pearl River Delta has been given and the existing problems in port development have been pointed out in the dissertation.Secondly, research has been made on the practice of port resource integration of domestic and foreign typical areas and conclusions have been made on the referenced experience. Successful experience of port resource integration has been drawn from the ports in the eastern and western America, in Mississippi, Rotterdam Port, Singapore Port, Ningbo Port, Zhoushan Port, Shanghai Port. Five items of reference have been summarized by considering the specific situation of Pearl River Delta.Thirdly, based on theoretical research of port economics, economic analysis has been given on the port resource integration.
