Economics Impacts Analysis And Evaluation Of High-speed Railway On Regions Along

High-speed rail (HSR) is a product of technology, economic and sciencedevelopment and an important form of applications and innovation of informationtechnology and other high-tech in the field of transportation, which has a significantimpact to regional economy development.For a long time, only a few countries have HSR, until the1990s, when morecountries in Europe, Asia or other regions have them. The paper analyzed theeconomic features of HSR and its impacts to regional economy systematically.(1) Theories of transportation econmics, regional economics and introduction ofHSR development. From a theoretical point of view, the paper analyzed the concept,characteristics and classification of traffics, study geographical economics, and withclassical economics, macroeconomics, transport economics, analyzed the economicgrowth by transportation. From a historical perspective, described the evolution oftransport structure and the renaissance of rail by HSR. Introduce the concepts,features and competitive advantages HSR, described the development of HSR in themain countries, compared to their different characteristics, summarized its operatingorganizational model, and predict the development trend of the world’s HSR.(2) HSR market analysis cost-benefit analysis, and passenger traffic statisticsanalysis of influencing factors. According to the technical characteristics and transportcapacity, study target market and share of it for HSR; from a theoretical and empiricalanalysis, demonstrate the impact on the existing transportation network by HSR.According to HSR construction project experience, analyze and summarize the costconstruction, economic and social benefits of HSR project, and establish cost-benefitmodel of HSR; determine the factors to HSR passenger traffic by regression analysis.(3) Impact to regional economy with the opening of HSR with theoretical andempirical analysis. On the base of transport economic and with the characteristics ofHSR concerned, analyzed the changes of regional population/labor force migration,the tourism industry, urban commercial, real estate and industry location choices bythe opening of HSR.(4) Assessments of regions’ economic impacts by HSR. Establish supply-orientedmodel of regional economic impacts by HSR, simulated the regional economies in Nscenarios, based on HSR and related socio-economic data in Japanese, get the short or long regional economical effects of HSR by comparing the different evaluation resultsin different scenarios of different HSR status.
