| Since we followed the policy of reform and opening, our national economy has maintained rapid growth. What’s more, our economic aggregate has led the world. As a result, people’s living condition has improved significantly, and Chinese national comprehensive power has increased gradually. Nevertheless, there exist serious problems that should not be ignored by us. For instance, the level of per capita income is still low, the development level between urban and rural areas still has large gap, and the gap between the rich and poor is becoming larger and larger. Moreover, the urbanization level is inconsistent, and the populationsize has impeded the economic development. In addition, some people only focus on economic interests, which resultin the destruction of ecological environment. There are frequent natural disasters and work safety accidents. The level of energy consumption is high, but the efficiency of energy use is low. The level of industrial structure optimization needs to be further enhanced. What’s more, the regional economic level and the social overall development level are not consistent, economic development exists hidden safety problems, and the social costs of economic development are high, people’s livelihoods and economicdevelopment don’t scale linearly. Meanwhile, technological development level is still low, and the independent innovation ability is weak.Last but not least, economic development, social development and ecological environment protection are not coordinated. Tosomeextent, the quality of national economy remains to be promoted at present.In October 2003, The Third Plenum of the Chinese Communist Party put forward the scientific concept of development, pointing out that one of the important goals of economic development is to achieve, which is emphasized theappropriate pace of developmentin the process of economic development, more importantly, to pursue high-quality economic development. The Yangtze River Economic Blet as an important link between east and west, is the most developed regionof the entire Yangtze River, is also the largest economic density regions of the country except the coastal region, and its development strategy for China’s economic development is of great. In September 2014 the State Council issued "The guidance on Yangtze River Economic Belt Developmenton the basis golden waterway ", making the Yangtze River Economic Belt was a national strategy. Development and construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt shoulders the important mission of reshaping China’s economic development strategy,supporting economic restructuring and development, promoting balanced regional development, undertaking the midwest industrial transfer, improving the regional opening patternand creating ecological corridors. This shows that a new round of development and openingof the Yangtze River Economic Belt more emphasis on the quality of development, especially the quality of its economic development. To find out how to improve the quality of economic development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, firstly, we must clear the current quality of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is in what situation and level of development, so the measure of the quality of the Yangtze River Economic Beltfrom the different perspective and scaleshas important theoretical and practical significance to create economic support belt of the economic development of the Yangtze River.Therefore, on the basis of combing on issues related to the quality of economic development at home and abroad, combines with the theory of economic development and quilty, defines the economic development of content and quality attributes,this dissertate on builds five dimensions index system to measures the quality of economics development from the effectiveness, coordination, sharing, innovative and sustainability. By the Global Principal Component Analysis,Cluster Analysis, Coefficient of Variation,Theil,ESDA (Explore Spatial Data Ananlysis) and other methods to measure and analysis of the economic development quality of the Yangtze River Economic in the period from 2006-2013.This dissertation includes seven chapters, and the specific contents are as follows.Chapter one is the preface. This chapter mainly introduces the background, meanings of study,main contents, methods and the basic ideas. Meanwhile, the framework of the structure and the main innovation points of the dissertation are also included in this chapter.Chapter two is mainly analysis of the related research progress and theoretical basis for this dissertation.Firstly,make a commentary on the related dissertation about connotation of the quality of economic development and the indicator system in abroad and home.Then make a related commentary about the quality of economic development and define the connotation and attribute of the quality of economic development.The dissertation defines that quality of economic development must involve the process of economic development and the result of economic development.So that meet the people’s demand and achieve the connoation of full development, thinks that the high quality of economic development should be a Multi-dimensional concept. That includes the economic benefit of ascension optimization of the economic structure, economic sharing degree of ascension, economic innovation and the continuous ability enhancement in one place. It is a coordinated development process of economy, social structure and internal structure optimization. From the point of economic growth, the development of economic directly performs the improvement of development’s speed and promotion of the total amount.From the economic benefits, the quality of economic development performs that the inputs for more output or certain output requires less investment.From the angle of economic structure,it shows the optimization and upgradingof industrial structure, consumption structure, investment structure, import and export structure, employment structure. Speakingfromthe angle of sustainable development, it’s reducing resource consumption to ensure the balance between economic development and ecological environment developmentbythe use of advanced science and technology, and the transformation of the backwardmode of production; From the angle of economic share, It means the improvement of residents’ social welfare,the increase of share of household income in national income. Aboveall are the description of the characteristics of economic development quality.According to the definition of economic development quality,finds that the economic development quality is showed from five aspects,including effectiveness, coordination, sharing, innovation and sustainability.So this dissertation defined the quality of economic development as quality of effectiveness, coordination, sharing, innovation and sustainability et al in the process of economic development.Chaper three is build the measure index system of economic development quality in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and choose the appropriate research method. Based on the theoretical definition of the connotation and attributes,the combination of subjective and objective, typicality, accuracy, feasibility, dynamic and practical these seven principles, the measure index system has 29indicators including the effectiveness, coordination, sharing, innovative and sustainability these five aspects, and the basic indicators were described and explained accordingly. And then considering objectivity of principal component analysis stronger than other methods, because the weight is determined according to the characteristics of the data itself, the information can fully reflected the basic indicator’s contribution to total in each dimension of economic development, So the thesis chooses the global principal component analysis to measure the economy developmentquality in Yangtze River Economic Belt, and clustered the total quality index using SPSS 16.0, so that the characteristics and influencing factors different regions’can be summarized and further analyzed.Chapter four is the economic development quality in the period from 2006 to 2013 of the cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is measured by the global principal component analysis. Also, it is analyzed separately from the regional perspective(East-Center-West), provincial perspective (9 provinces and 2 cities) and the prefecture level (126 cities). The results show that the trend of the economic development quality of the Yangtze River Economic Belt between 2006 and 2013 appears to be upward expect for economic development sustainability, the economic development effectiveness,sharing innovation and coordination have positive effects on economic development quality; the weights of the effectiveness and sharing in the first principal component index are roughly the same, which indicates that the development of the economic development quality is mainly caused by the improvement of the economic development efficiency and people’s living level; the contribution of the economic development sustainability to the economic development quality index is the lowest, and the value is-0.3682,which indicates the economic development sustainability gets in the way of the improvement of economic quality; the index of the economic development sustainability is mainly combined by environment metrics, so the result above indicates the environment has a tendency to deteriorate with the development of economy. Also the economic development quality index is clustered by the method of cluster analysis. The results show that the economic development quality level of Yangtze River Economic Belt presents obvious distributed terrain and "urban agglomeration(circle)" characteristics. High quality type economic development areas are mainly concentrated in the third ladder which is eastern coastal area. Meanwhile, the medium quality type economic development areas are mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River delta City Group, Wuhan City Circle, Changsha Zhuzhou Xiangtan City Circle and Chengdu Chongqing City Agglomeration. What’s more, low quality type economic development areas are mainly concentrated in the second ladder. Besides, poor quality type economic development areas are mainly concentrated in the first ladder.Chapter five is according to the "Time series-Classification-Regression analysis" mode to analysis the quality of the Yangtze River Economic Belt development from five dimensions. From a regional perspective, the effectiveness, sharing, coordination and innovative dimension index of economic development all emerged as the eastern region> central region> western region, but the sustainability of economic development is manifested in western region> West region> eastern region. It suggests that environment pollution and resource consumption has severely restricted the economic development of the eastern region,and backward economy in the western region restricted by the level of economic development.resident welfare, urbanization, science and technology. By using each dimension respectively and the total economic development quality index in panel regression, the results shows that the effectiveness, sharing, coordination and innovation of economic development were significantly positive correlated with total quality index while the sustainability of economic development showed negative correlation. This resultremind us from another level that our country made great success in creating economic wealth but also paid a heavy environmental cost in recent years.China is a populous developing country. Since the reform and opening up, with sustained and rapid economic growth, China’s natural resources suffered heavy damage, problems of environmentpollutionhave become increasingly serious.Moreand more environmental pollution problem has aroused the concern of the government and the public. By analysis 1981-2003 the relationship under per capita GDP and per capita industrial waste generation, per capita exhaust, industrial waste water emissions in China, Chen Wen indicated that China’s economic growth did not improve these two environmental indicators but made them getting worse. In aword, China still faces serious environmental pressures.Although many industrialized country used to achieve economic development by damage the ecological environment, we should keep pace with The Times. Nowadays, facing serious global environmental problems, we may exceed "Environmental Capacity Threshold" by overemphasizing economic development withoutattaching importance to environmental protection. Therefore, we should insist in the road of sustainable development. Only calling for environmental protection, improve relevant policies for environmental protection and other measures beneficial to environment can achieve economy sustained, stable and healthy development.Chapter Six apply variation coefficient, Theil index and ESDA exploratory spatial data analysis, to analyze the differences of economic development level of quality and the spatial and temporal variation features around the Yangtze River Economic Belt cities.The results are as follows, Yangtze River Economic Belt regional unit quality level fluctuations in economic development in present convergence trend year by year. What’s more, the differences between the east, the middle and the west regions are much more than the regions’ internal differences, the east>the west>the middle. Because of all above, withthe notice of narrowing the differences between regions at the same time, we paid more attention to the inner differences of the east and the west. There is a significant positive spatial autocorrelation among the Yangtze River Economic Belt cities,namelythe homogeneity ("high-high"and "low-low"), and the heterogeneity ("high-low" and "low-high") is not particularly significant. The spatial pattern characteristics are closely related to the regional economic basis, resources endowment, location conditions and the government policy guidance. From 2006 to 2013, thehot spotsof the quality of the Yangtze River Economic Belt are mainly concentrated in the developed eastern coastal areas. And the gap between the hot spots and the less-hot spots has been narrowing year after year. The cold spot areas are mainly concentrated in the YunNan region area of southwest inland economically backward. And the gap between the coldspots and the less-coldspots have been expanding year by year. Due to the polarization effect, the characteristics of agglomeration which the hot spots and less-hot spots brought is significant, and the ripple effect which cold spots and less-cold spots brought is growing. From the analysis of standard deviation ellipse, the economic development qualityof the Yangtze River Economic Belt cities present the spatial pattern of the "northeast-southwest"in 2006-2013.The space was expended and moved to the west. The economic development quality of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze river region dominatesin the Yangtze River Economic Belt. From the perspective of the geometric centerandmass center of theeconomic development quality,the mass center of the economic development quality is eastward. This deviates from the geometric center of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It indicates that the Yangtze River Economic Belt area presents obvious spatial imbalance of economic development.Chapter seven is the conclusion and outlook. The main conclusions and the inadequacies are presented. Besides, this chapter put forward some problems that need to be discussed further in the future.
