The problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers, which the government thought as key problems in China's socialist revolution, construction and reform, are the main problems closely related to the party and the nation alike, and are concerned with the modernization of socialism. It is critical to recognize scientifically and to deal correctly with the problems facing agriculture, rural areas, and farmers so that the national economy can develop in harmony with the society, that the strategic goal to build a well-off society in an all-around way can be achieved, that the alliance between the workers and farmers can be reinforced and developed in the new situation, that political stability of the society can be improved and the socialist modernization can be accomplished, and that the socialist cause with Chinese characteristics can be promoted.This dissertation analyzes the problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers in a systematic and insightful way, directed by Marxism, Mao Zedong thought and the theory of Deng Xiaoping, and by the requirement of the important thought of "three represents", from the double viewpoints of socialism and modernization.This dissertation includes the preface and eight chapters: a social and historical investigation of the problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers; review of the historical origins of the problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers; the original and hard probe into solving the problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers by the pioneers of the Chinese communist party with the leadership of Mao Zedong; the great practice of building socialism with the Chinese characteristics and the problems facing agriculture, rural areas, and farmers; the contemplation of the problems facing agriculture, rural areas, and farmers by the three generations of Chinese collective central leadership; the problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers and socialist modernization條essons and experience; the current situation of the problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers; the new phase, the new situation and the new problems; the prospective of the problems facing agriculture, rural areas and farmers in the process of the modernization of China's socialism.The preface is about the theme of the dissertation梩he key topic of the new century.
