Deng Xiaoping's Socialism And Capitalism, The Relationship Between Theory, Research,

The relationships between socialism and capitalism , especialy the relationship between their social structures ,between their social systems and the relationship between socialist and capitalist countries ,are universally concerned and still perplexed ideological questions ,and important theoretical and practical questions in socialism , and also topics of general interest of scholars and statesmen at home and abroad. The thesis takes Deng Xiaoping's " Theory of the Relationship Between Two Systems"as the object of study. While mainly analyzing the theory's theoretical genesis , the formation and content , the application , the development by the Third Generation of our Party's leading group led by Jiang Zemin, the thesis is aimed at revealing the theoretical and practical value of the theory.Besides introduction and conclusion, the thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter One is about the theoretical genesis. This chapter mainly discusses the background of the times, ie the influence of international situation on the formation of the theory; the ideological genesis of the theory, ie its development of Marx , Engels, Lenin and Mao Zedong's related expositions and thoughts ; the practical basis of the theory , ie its learning from the experience and lessons of socialist countries, including USSR^ the socialist countries of East Europe and China.Chapter Two is on the formation of Deng's theory. Theoretically, the theory came into being while Deng examined series of important questions in socialism and drew some important conclusions ,which include the theory of Socialist Primary Period , about the nature of socialism , the theory of socialist market economy. Meanwhile Deng reflected deeply on capitalism , having a new understanding of the vitality ,the civilization and the nature of capitalism. Practically,the theory is enhanced by the practice of headed the modernizations constructions done by the people of the whole country led by Deng which has liberated people's thoughts and ended up the arguments about "if it is socialism or capitalism" thus, took a great step forward reform and opening to the outside world.Chapter Three is about the explanation of Deng's theory, which mainly on the content of the theory. First, the relationship between the two systems is unity of opposition. The opposition is embodied in the difference of the two systems, of theirvalues, of their models and destination of modernization. The opposition is also embodied in the mutual contradiction and conflict between the two systems and two kinds of countries. The unity is embodied in the coexistence and cooperation between the two systems, specifically in their interdependence , simultaneous prosperity and declination, peaceful coexistence. The unity can also be seen in their mutual reference and complement , mutual aid and cooperation in global administration ,and their leam from each other. Secondly, deal with the relations between the two kinds of countries should follow the principles of respecting state interest N maintaining independence and keeping the initiative -, the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence > getting the country's own affairs well . Thirdly , Deng's theory has distinguishing features: the objective and pragmatic style , bringing forth new ideas and blazing new trails, having definite directions and unity of opposition .Chapter Four is about the practice of Deng's theory. On the basis of the theory , Deng established Chian's diplomatic strategy of the new epoch, with the characteristics of opening up to the outside in various positions, levels and fields. The scientific concept of " One country, two systems"was put into effect, Hongkong and Macao returned to our country smoothly under the leadership of the third generation of our party's leading group with JiangZemin as the leading core.Chapter Five is about the development of the theory under the leadership of the third generation of our party's leading group.
