The problem of relationship of Economic Globalization to Socialist Road of Eastern Backward Countries is a contemporary social theoretical and practical issue of great significance. In approaching the problem, the thesis, under the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Ze-dong Thought, Deng Xiao-ping Theory and "Three Represents" Important Theory, and in the light of the realities of Socialist Road of Eastern Backward Countries, esp., those of Socialism of Chinese Characteristics, is intended to survey and ponder over the developing process, innate features and future tendency of economic globalization and advance some of my points of view so as to prove necessity and significance of Socialist Road of Eastern Backward Countries taking under the historical conditions of Economic Globalization.Economic globalization in essence is a historical process during which man develops productive forces and promotes association. Marx pointed out, a true historical process is necessarily a combination of unity and variety. Therefore, globalization is a historical process founded by all human civilizations, but avenues and ways of participating the process are varied. Contemplating and probing into the problem of relationship of Globalization to Socialist Road of Eastern Backward Countries took generations of the great men, from Marx, Engels, Lenin, Starling, Mao Ze-dong to Deng Xiao-ping as long as a century, with great effort, in course of which one leap after another has been made. The socialist road of eastern backward countries, for old-aged Lenin or middle-aged Mao Ze-dong, connoted: the easterners, under the conditions of globalization, actively met exploitation and oppression imposed on them by the western imperialist powers, promptly seized an opportunity to gain political independence and economic prosperity, and creatively participated in globalization to break the solo pattern so that they could turn the unfavorable situation, in which they were caught, into a favorable one.Globalization is founded by all human civilizations but it in reality was initiated by western capitalism on the basis of assimilating all positive achievements created by eastern Ancient civilization. Pursuit of surplus value has resulted in birth of capitalism, exploration of world markets and emergence of globalization. Capitalist mode of production, characterized by marketing economy, surpassed Asian mode of production, characterized by agricultural economy, in developing productive forces and promoting association. As globalization expanded, Asian civilization went into a decline, the eastern countries went from advanced to backward and the easternbackward countries landed themselves in a plight of passiveness. Capitalist globalization started with a course, written in words of blood and fire into the annals of history. Exposure to the whole globe of the contradictions inherent in capitalism -socialization or even globalization of production and privatization of products led to a rise of global-wide socialist movements and thoughts as globalization was on its way. The theory of scientific socialism founded by Marx and Engels was in nature intended to prove that communist globalization is sure to supersede capitalist globalization. And communism in substance involves sublation of capitalism and inheritance from globalization, i.e. advanced development of social productive forces and advanced promotion of human association on the entire globe.Perspective in which Marx and Engels saw globalization was macro, beyond doubt. They, in their later years, shifted focus of research on socialist road from western developed countries to eastern backward ones. The eastern backward countries with state-ownership in their genes came into natural antagonism with capitalism of private ownership and assumed certain similitude to socialism of public ownership. How to transcend the capitalist gorge was a problem on which Marx and Engels devoted large quantities of time and energy to dwelling in their remaining years. The two men felt confident that the eas...
