In an era of knowledge-based economy, enterprises are under a dynamic situation caused by the rapid development of the technology, frequent modification of the product and the changeable customers' preference. Under this circumstance, enterprises who simply maintain their existing competitiveness system would be soon replaced by their competitors who are more innovative. It's a hot issue in the business circles on how to obtain the competitive advantages and to keep the competitiveness as longer as possible. This is also one of the key points of the current theoretical research on competitiveness.China's enterprises, who are in a extensively competing environment arising from the current transitional economy such as China's socialized-market economy and the frequent adaptation to the changing requirements of the up-grading industrial structure, have inevitably to face this more sophisticated and dynamic situation as well as higher pressure on competition. Therefore, it's imperative to introduce a new theory on competitiveness to help enterprises to understand and identify what the quality of competitiveness is, how it develops and evolutes and then to offer a guide for their business operations. Dynamic capability theory could be one possibility to play this role. It was emphasized in this theory that to gain competitive advantages, enterprises must keep their innovative capability up with the changes of their external environment. From the viewpoint of dynamic capability, not only was the origin of competitiveness of enterprises discussed, but also the forming mechanism and the developing principle. The whole study of this issue was aiming to help enterprises to identify what primary factors dominate their business success and how to develop those favorable capabilities essentially. The main viewpoint in this thesis was that the essence of dynamic capability with its feature of self-upgrading ability is the dynamic mechanism in the whole capability system and its existence could maintain the internal coordination well among various capabilities that enterprises have and keep further sustainable development of the enterprises. It was established on both theoretical and positive researches, starting from the international studies on the same subject as others in this line. In further, the abstract and non-measurable dynamic capability is transformed to be comparatively more concrete and workable dynamic mechanism here in the thesis. The concept and the content of the dynamic mechanism were provided with as well, including driving mechanism, learning mechanism and matching mechanism. The basic philosophy of dynamic capability viewpoint was herein established — owing to the uncertainty of theenvironment, if enterprises intend to gain customers and obtain the competitive advantages under the sharp competition, they should follow the environmental changes, and keep learning mechanism active to improve the capabilities of themselves, optimizing the allocation of resources and adapting the organizational structures to the changes of external environment to foster the improvement of the competitiveness, with the function of the dynamic mechanism.Without the limitation occurred in the independent researching approaches of resource-based, capability-based and industry-based, this new viewpoint of dynamic capability-focused was applied to integrating the external organizational environment system and internal organizational capability system, resource system and dynamic mechanism into one unit as the analyzing frame to study the competitiveness of enterprises. Obviously, the viewpoint of dynamic capability is in fact the integration from the resource-viewpoint and the capability-viewpoint. Enterprises competitiveness is composed by three major elements: capability system, resource system and dynamic mechanism. It was noted that the external environment was the main influential factor instead of a decisive one. Consequently, the quality of the enterprises competitiveness is generated internally. Nevertheless, systematic and dyna...
