The hands that rock the cradle are those that change the world. Parent-child relationship not only affects the development of such subjects as parents and children, but also has an important influence on school, society and nation. So, if you concern the future of our nation and the harmony of society, you should concern parent-child relationship.After a review of literatures, ancient and present, at home and abroad, about parent-child relationship, and with enlightenment of the predecessors' research results, and in connection with the lack of philosophical method in them, the research views parent-child relationship as communication practice relation from the view of communication practice. The research then goes on to probe the historical features and current situations of parent-child relationship with the view of communication practice. The conclusion from the investigation of the three historical features (the patriarchy type in agricultural age, instrumental type in industrial age, democratic type in the information age) is that the third type is the trend of history. Parent-child relationship in Chinese transformation period on the one hand follow the trend, but on the other hand, for some kinds of reason, harmful ways of communication still exist, which result in more and more conflicts and contradictions between parents and children in nowadays China. It makes the consideration and construction of a new parent-child relationship a task of top priority.The research next explores how to construct a new parent-child relationship, including the general rules of construction, the construction of a new parent-child relationship in families with special children, school education in the construction of a new parent-child relationship, and new parents school, a successful practice in promoting the home-school relations.The conclusion of the research is that going with the stream, the subject-object-subject parent-child relationship is essential to China as well as feasible in China; the new educational experiment is a great attempt to construct a new parent-child relationship. Furthermore, the construction of the new parent-child relationship is a systematic engineering, which can only be completed with the joint efforts from families, schools, societies and government.The innovations of the research lie in:1. Looking into parent-child relationship with the view of philosophy;2. The investigation of historical features of parent-child relationship;3. The train of thought in constructing new parent-child relationship;4. Connecting the parent-child relationship with school education.This research has innovative significance and applicable value.In theory, this research constructs parent-child relationship into subject-object-subject communication practice relations, breaking through the weakness of the predecessors' researches, which attach importance to positivist research, but ignore the theoretical research. The research will improve and enrich the philosophy of education.In terms of methodology employed, this research analyzes parent-child relationship from a philosophical perspective, which however is scarce in the predecessors' researches. Therefore the research is a breakthrough as far as methodology is concerned.In practice, the theory of constructing new parent-child relationship in this research will direct parents and children to communication with each other more properly, leading to the development of parents and children, which in the long run can affect school, society and nation, such as the progress of society, the prosperity and strength of a nation.
