This study investigates high school students' multiple intelligences according to psychologist Howards ?Gardner's theory. The four kinds of school involved are key high schools, ordinary high schools, rural high schools and vocational high schools. There are 1164 students participated in the study from April to June in 2004.The instrument used is from the Education Bureau of Kentucky State and Surfaquarium Information Company profile in US. The collected data shows normal distribution. The Cronbach's a reliability and structural validity were examined. It was found that1. The students from key high schools demonstrated higher logical-mathematical intelligence than their peers from other kinds of schools did.2. The students from vocational high schools demonstrated higher interpersonal intelligence than their peers from other kinds of schools did.3. There are a little differences among the four-kind school students in visual-spatial intelligence, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, musical-rhythmic intelligence.4. There are no differences among the four-kind school students in linguistic intelligence, naturalist intelligence.5. Each student has special intelligences combination. Although some students hold on same excellent intelligence, their behaviors are different according to interviewing selected teachers in the high schools. Conclusions and suggestions based on the questionnaire as following1. The curriculum and pedagogy in key high school are designed only by logical-mathematical intelligence.2. The view on logical-mathematical intelligence determines the physics curriculum and pedagogy in high school.3. Developing all multiple intelligences for students in the curriculum and pedagogy.4. There are four strategies for developing bodily-kinesthetic, visual-spatial, naturalist and logical-mathematical intelligence for students in physics curriculum and pedagogy. Manipulator strategy, Image present strategy, Naturalist strategy,logical-mathematical strategy.
