Knowledge and person with ability are more and more important with the rapiddevelopment of the information-based society. It's an irrefutable fact that science andtechnology are the first prolificacy. However, the key for the development of science andtechnology is person with ability, and cultivating person with ability relies on education inwhich teachers are the core of educational activities. Therefore, the study on teacher educationis very important.From the angle of educational history, there are a lot of similarities in teacher educationsystem in China and Korea. Firstly, both of them formed with the influence of other countries.Korea absorbed and borrowed from the teacher education system of Japan and America, whileChina got the impact of the teacher education systems of Japan, America and Soviet Union.From China's implementation of reform and open door policy, the former closed teachereducation system in China has changed a lot, now it is developing towards the opening andintegrated teacher education system.Although there are both similarities and differences in teacher education in China andKorea, all the two countries pay much more attention to the role of teachers. At present,teacher education systems in the two countries are being at the stage of reform, and teachercertificate system, recruiting students system, teachers' appointment system and assessmentsystem for teachers in the two countries are also different. Therefore, the comparison onteacher education in China and Korea has very important significance for improving teacherquality of the two countries both in theory and in practice. What's more, the comparison willpromote educational communication and cooperation of the two countries, and also providesome reference for educational development of each other.In this dissertation, the author makes a comprehensive and deep study on teachereducation system in China and Korea, and based on it, the author makes very importantconclusion of the study, by adopting such researching methods as literature study,investigation, comparison and analysis, history study and interaction relationship theory. Thestudy is hopefully to provide some reference for teacher education reform in China and Korea.The author makes the comparison of teacher education system in China and Korea fromsix aspects, and the dissertation consists of eight chapters as follows:In introduction part, the author introduces issue's advancing, researching motivation, thedefinition of core concepts, researching approach and methods, researching scope andlimitation, and the significance of the research.Chapter one: the theoretical foundation of teacher education in China and Korea. Thispart includes teacher professionalization, the integration of teacher education, the theories ofteachers' growth and development stages, the theoretical explanation of teacher educationmode, and the probe into the theoretical issues which teacher education circles in the twocountries focus on.Chapter two: the comparison of teachers' pre-service education of China and Korea. Theauthor makes the comparison from such aspects as follows: the mode and goal, the historydevelopment, the current situation, curriculum system and institutions of teacher pre-serviceeducation in the two countries.Chapter three: the comparison of teachers' induction education of China and Korea. Inthis part the author makes the comparison from such aspects as follows: the goal, the currentsituation, form and content of teacher's induction education in the two countries.Chapter four: the comparison of teachers' in-service education of China and Korea. Inthis chapter, the author expounds the theoretical viewpoints of teachers' in-service education,and makes comparison on the goal, the current situation, mode and content and institutions ofteachers' in-service education in the two countries.Chapter five: the comparison of administration system for teacher and teacher educationin China and Korea. In this part, the author introduces and makes comparison of teachercertificate system, recruiting students system in normal schools, teachers' appointment systemand teachers' assessment system in China and Korea.Chapter six: In this part, the author discusses teacher education reform of China andKorea, and introduces the content and plan of teacher education reform in the two countries,and based on this, the author analyzes the future development trend of teacher education ofthe two countries.Chapter seven: Based on the analysis and comparison of the six chapters above, theauthor analyzes the inspiration of teacher education of China and Korea for each other fromthe aspects of teachers' pre-service education, induction education, in-service education andadministration system for teachers.The remarkable achievements of the research includes two aspects as follows: firstly, theauthor makes a comprehensive and deep study on teacher education system in China andKorea from various perspectives, such as the perspectives of theory and practice, history andthe future, especially, through the comparative researching of teacher education system, theauthor points out a lot of innovative suggestion and proposition for teacher education reformand development of China and Korea. Secondly, as a outlier, the author examines the currentproblems of teacher education in China, and based on the experience of teacher education ofKorea, the author gives some suggestion for teacher education reform and development ofChina, which is full of innovative value.
