Virtual team is a new form of organization, which emerges accompanied by the development of information technology and the changes of market conditions. It is also a dynamic union set up by many subjects who have common organization goals, which takes the principles of resource sharing and focusing on trust in business activities; the emergence of virtual teams is absolutely no accidence. Its rapid development, on the one hand is to meet the needs of economic globalization. On the other hand, advanced information and communication technologies lay out the technical foundation for the emergence of virtual team. Moreover, with the further development of network technology and communication technology, this new form of organization, virtual team will certainly take the leading part in future organization management.The coming of knowledge economy era promotes the rising of knowledge management research. Thus, knowledge management is widely attracted by entrepreneurs, and rapidly developing in practical field. According to world-renowned consulting firm KPMG survey:until 2002-2003,80% enterprises manage knowledge as a corporate strategic resource. The task of knowledge management is to provide convenience for knowledge creation, manage the approach of knowledge people sharing and applying. As a newly arised management model, it has caused great change among organization structure, organization behavior and knowledge development approach. With the further development of the knowledge economy, it must be the most important management tools and contents in organization, and make important contributions for the development and improvement of management theory. Literature search shows that the research about organization knowledge sharing is very great, while the research about the basic unit of cooperative organization--knowledge sharing in virtual teams is quite small.The basic purpose of this study is to reveal the internal laws of knowledge sharing in virtual teams from the embedded perspective of social network, thus providing theoretical and empirical basis for domestic virtual teams' knowledge-sharing management practice. Specifically including as follows: 1. Theoretical purpose1) Research the internal mechanism of knowledge sharing in virtual teams from the embedded perspective of social networks, including the motivation of knowledge sharing, obstacles, process, distribution, etc.;2) Explore the relationships among the roles that the embedded elements of social networks play in knowledge sharing in virtual teams;3) Research the effect that the characteristics of virtual team organization may bring to the embedded elements of social networks under the environment of virtual team organization;4) Explore the management strategy of knowledge sharing in virtual teams from the embedded perspective of social networks;5) Establish the application platform of knowledge sharing in virtual teams.2. Practical purposesMaster the law of the members of virtual teams doing knowledge sharing and clarify the mechanism that the embeddedness of social networks brings to knowledge sharing in virtual teams. Thus, we can improve the efficiency and level of knowledge sharing and provide necessary theory and practical support, when our country's enterprises operate this virtual team organization.The content in detail for this passage:Chapter 1 Introduction. This chapter focuses on the research background and motivation, object, purpose and significance, innovation, and also gives the research methods, technical routes and paper framework.Chapter 2 Literature review and theoretical foundation. It focuses on several areas of literature as follows:theory of knowledge-sharing literature, virtual teams literature, social network literature, team cognition literature, and the literature about social network applied in knowledge management, laying out the foundation for the full-text research.Chapter 3 The internal mechanism of knowledge sharing in virtual teams. Analyze the essential relationship among virtual teams, knowledge sharing and social networks, demonstrate that virtual teams are an effective organization of knowledge sharing, and analyze the effect that relation embedding, structure embedding and cognitive embedding bring to knowledge sharing in virtual teams; analyze that team knowledge system should include such three basic elements:knowledge resources, knowledge carriers and knowledge context. And they respectively take organization environment and knowledge characteristics as the external conditions of motivation, take organization motivation and individual motivation as the internal conditions of motivation, to build the analysis framework of the motivation of knowledge sharing in virtual teams; discuss the process of knowledge sharing in virtual teams under the environment of social-network embeddedness, from the point of virtual team's own characteristics, focusing on such three aspects as the object of knowledge sharing, the organization environment of knowledge sharing and the subject of knowledge sharing, to analyze the obstacle elements of knowledge sharing in virtual teams; profoundly analyze the knowledge distribution of virtual teams based on life cycle, and preliminarily discuss the formation and establishment of knowledge network in virtual teams.Chapter 4 The impact mechanisms of knowledge sharing in virtual teams from the embedded perspective of social networks. Discussing the impact that the embedding elements of social networks have on knowledge sharing in virtual teams, from such three dimensions as relation embedding, structure embedding and cognitive embedding of social networks, establishing the impact mechanism model of knowledge sharing in virtual teams from the embeddedness perspective of social network, with the virtual teams'own characteristics, extract two elements network ties, network density of social network structure embedding, two elements the trust element of social network relation dimension and shared mental model and interactive memory system of social network cognitive dimension, and their relations among knowledge sharing in virtual teams; analyze the virtual teams' characteristics and conclude that team virtualness and team communication have great significance on social network dimensions, on this basis, building the theoretically hypothetical model of knowledge sharing in virtual teams from the embedded perspective of social network.Chapter 5 The test of hypothetical model. It mainly includes questionnaire design, data collection, descriptive statistics and quality assessment. After large-scale survey sample selection, sampling method, the initial sorting and statistics of data, data reliability and validity analysis, use SPSS16.0 and Amos18.0 to test research model and research hypotheses.Chapter 6 The management strategies of knowledge-sharing networks in virtual teams. Based on the foregoing discussion, respectively exploring from such three aspects as structure embedding, relation embedding and cognitive embedding, put forward effective strategies enhancing the management level in virtual teams and stimulating knowledge sharing; using the basic theory of collaborative management, analyze the collaborative management strategies of the relationship, structure and cognitive of knowledge sharing in virtual teams.Chapter 7 The application platform research of knowledge sharing in virtual teams. Discuss the establishment of domain ontology in virtual teams and build the knowledge maps in virtual teams based on domain ontology, including:knowledge sharing-oriented system framework of knowledge maps in virtual teams, construction method, etc.; using Web3.0, build the platform structure model of knowledge-sharing platform in virtual teams based on Web3.0.Chapter 8 Conclusions and prospects. Give a summary on research findings and point out the existing limitations and the follow-up directions.
