Competence Of Telecommunication Corporation Based On Shell Theory

With the world entering the age of Global Economy,the market environment of telecommunications industry has changed dramatically.In order to seek existent and development,the telecommunications corporations should improve their whole competitive and strongly increase their own core competence except for enhancing continually the infrastructure construction.More and more corporations have realized that only core competence can help them survive the intense competition.However,due to the lack of the theoretical research in this field,the practice of firms is also far from satisfactory and,this research on this topic is quite meaningful both theoretically and practically.For the moment,the existing research regarding competence or core competence of telecommunication corporations is relatively scattered and not systematic.In addition, most of the research belongs to empirical research,which focuses on the purport and approach of improving the competence or core competence of telecommunication corporations,and there is few of quantitative analysis.This dissertation builds the competence shell model by Shell theory,which can provide quantitative analysis of competence and improve the scientificalness of the competitive strategy decision making of telecommunication corporations.The core contents of the dissertation consist of four parts:a.Analyze the transformation trend of Chinese telecommunication corporations from monopolization to competition,describe the evolution of market structure of telecommunication corporations,discuss the factors what influence the competence of telecommunication Corporations,and build up the competence multi-shell model by Shell theory.Furthermore,this dissertation discusses the basic characters and behaviors of competence multi-shell.b.Confirm the evaluation index system of telecommunication corporations' competence on the basis of taking the fore research in the field and the characteristics of Chinese telecommunication corporations into account.The evaluation index system lays foundation a foundation for the later research.c.Put forward the evaluation method of telecommunication corporations' competence based on multi-shell model.This method firstly analyses the composing of multi-shell model and confirm that the multi-shell consists of shell of enterprise scale, shell of financial management,shell of market sale,shell of organization management, shell of technology creative and shell of police and environment.And then,this method furthermore confirms the computing method of each attributes of competence shell such as Gate,Wall,Open degree and Exchange rate by analyzing the connotation of each attributes of competence shell.The computing method is necessary to realize the purpose of quantitative analysis of competence.This method is used to evaluate the competence of one branch of China Tietong and one branch of China Telecom,and the result is accord with the actuality,what shows this method is valuable and universality for the research on the competence of telecommunication corporation.d.Point out the competence of telecommunication corporations come from the integration of enterprise culture power,enterprise study power and enterprise creative power by summarizing the evaluation result.And furthermore propose some approaches for enhancing the competence of telecommunication corporations.
