Research On Salar Immigrant Lifestyle Changes

Reservoir immigrant is a kind of involuntary resettlement, their migration process does not have market selection, especially the progress changed suddenly, this process will inevitably lead the natural environment and cultural environment of immigrants live changed profoundly, causing their lifestyle change drastically.Under the theory of Social and Cultural Changes and Field-Habitus, taking reservoir immigrants in village M xunhua salar autonomous county Qinghai Province as the research object, our paper mainly discuss the villagers’ traditional livelihoods and lifestyle changes caused by migration and the adjustment and reconstruction of ethnic traditional culture. Due to the geographical location, social customs and religion, the lifestyle changes of Salar reservoir immigrants present distinct characteristics. Taking reservoir immigrants’ life in salar old and new village M as the research subject and combing with field investigation and literature research, this article mainly do research on reservoir immigrants living lifestyle, consumer lifestyle, marriage and family lifestyle, religion lifestyle and leisure lifestyle, explore the content and reasons of lifestyle changes or not, find old and new problems in the process of changes. Finally we try to construct the sustainable development of the reservoir immigrants’ way of life by exploring the reservoir immigration local resettlement mode. This article is divided into three parts including eight chapters:The first part is introduction, which focus on the research origin, significance of the topic, the review of related research, the research theory and method, and the simple introduction of the field.The second part is the principal one. We find problems by doing research on reservoir immigrants from the beginning to the end of their migration. Their livelihood changed a lot because of field changes, state power and living environments have influence on the living pattern; Because of a new geographical relations, the villagers’ consumption lifestyle has been reconstructed, its consumption structure and consumption idea changed constantly, consumption lifestyle changes led to social stratification and urbanization process in their village. Marriage concept, family structure and scale and family relationship have been changed due to migration, but the long-standing religious customs and traditional rituals such as patriarchal power are still affect the marriage and family life strongly. In the progress of changing, their mosque was built for a long time, the villagers’ religious belief was strengthened constantly, and generational differences are gradually obvious with the process of modernization. The villages staying at home without land have more leisure time, but the traditional way of leisure life gradually disappeared and replaced by modern leisure lifestyle.The third part is conclusion. The construction of reservoir immigrants’ way of life should be based on sustainable development principles. We should not only consider the sustainability of the material life, but also give attention to the inner spiritual life in the process. Finally we try to explore a new mode of resettlement that combine immigrants’ livelihood homeland and spiritual homeland together.
