The Research Of Poverty About Reservoir Immigrants Of Shanxi Province

Recently, the government has paid high attention to the reservoir immigrants. It is increasingly deep for domestic scholars to research the problems of the reservoir immigrants. This article takes Fen river reservoir immigrants as an example, and then studies their basic living conditions, especially their poverty conditions. Questionnaire survey and field studies are conducted. The methods including description statistics and logical deduction are also been used. This paper puts forwards countermeasures aim at the problem of reducing immigrants'poverty.The study result of this paper shows that, immigrants'occupational structure is single, income is lower, housing is poor, land is barren, qualified teachers and infrastructure in the school are short. These mentioned above limit economic and social development in the Fen river settlement seriously.The main effect factor as to immigrants'poverty mechanism can be briefly analyzed in the following four aspects: vicious cycle of poverty, inter-generational transmission of poverty, institutional factor and energy shortage in the resettlement. The study shows that, in fact the outdated reservoir immigrants'poverty has been reintegrated into the area poverty. We must now set out to solve the problems of the immigrants'poverty according to the settlement actual situations. Suggestions mentioned in this paper to eliminate poverty are as follows. Firstly, make overall resettlement planning before immigrants displace; secondly, poverty alleviation should be included into the overall resettlement plan. Thirdly, government must improve the existing settlement management system; Forth, to further reinforce resettlement legislation work and stress administration with laws; fifth, strengthen Science &Technology Training, improve population quality; sixth, establish a sound social security system for immigrants; seventh, the settlement poverty alleviation must be made by local government in order to ensure the reservoir area economic development. The article embraces six proportions. First proportion, the introduction, presents briefly the research background, and defines enough intension and extension of several central concepts. Based on this, the research object is fixed, the research content and research methods are briefly explained, and finally significance is expounded. The second proportion, Literature review, offers us a comparatively systematic and comprehensive knowledge as to the related articles of domestic and overseas scholars, especially emphasizing the latest findings about the immigrants'poverty. In the third proportion, the immigrants'current poverty situation is analyzed, Fen river immigrants'basic condition is elaborated, and remaining issues of settlement are exploited on quantitative research methods. The poverty mechanism is discussed in the forth proportion generally. Effective countermeasures and strategies are taken to solve the immigrants'poverty problems in the fifth proportion. Proportion sixth sums up the whole paper, points out the shortcomings, and puts forward to investigate further.
