Research Of Experiment Equipment Management Of Typical Engineering Colleges In Vietnam

The university laboratory is dedicated to teaching and scientific research as well as to carry out technological services and production experiments. With this regard, the construction and management of laboratories can be taken as an important indicator that reflects the level of the colleges’ teaching, scientific research and management. After reforming and opening up for nearly thirty years, the development of higher education in Vietnam has made gratifying achievements. However, there is still a big gap between the Vietnamese higher education and the talent demand for the purpose of developing an innovation country. In particular, the cultivation of senior specialists with innovative and advanced technology has become an urgent yet challenging task. Thus, it is a crucial problem to be solved for Vietnam higher education to strengthen the laboratory construction and management in colleges and universities, to promote the teaching quality and to upgrade the scientific research ability.In this thesis, an extensive literature review has been first conducted and then the starting point and outline of the research subject was introduced. With the help of Chinese teachers and Vietnamese colleagues, the ineffective Vietnam university laboratory management and the low utilization factor of equipment are addressed. Essentially,10of typically well-recognized universities are selected to evaluate the Vietnam colleges laboratory management performance, and the statistical analysis method is adopted to construct the equipment management performance evaluation system of Vietnam engineering colleges. According to this evaluation system, the comparative analysis and the mean value method are used to evaluate the usage of large scale equipments in typical Vietnam engineering colleges. The main problems encountered in the present management system of experimental equipments in Vietnam engineering colleges are pointed out, of which the essential reasons are also summarized and the potential solutions are suggested. The main solutions include:to consummate the management system of laboratory equipments, to establish an opening and sharing system of large precision valuable instruments and equipments, and to strength the information management level, etc. Finally, in order to promote the opening and sharing of large and precise instruments at Vietnamese universities, a constructive architecture of experimental equipment management information system is designed that includes:the system application architecture, the system organization structure and the system function structure etc, which is devoted to improve the automatic management level.This thesis has three main contributions:1) an evaluation system with10performance indexes is developed to address the existing problem in the management of experimental equipments in Vietnamese universities, where the characteristics of the practical training and teaching of Vietnamese engineering colleges are taken into consideration;2) an opening and sharing precept of large scale precision instruments and equipments is proposed according to current management practice in Vietnam universities3) a supportive automation equipment management model is established based on the application of WEB and SQL server platform (commonly used in Vietnam).
