The development of world economy has entered the era of knowledge economy,implementing scientific and technological innovation, technological progress is the basicfeatures of knowledge economy era. Practice has proved that technological innovation andtechnological progress is a decisive force in a country’s sustainable economic growth. As acountry’s economy base, manufacturing industry must change the traditional extensivegrowth mode which relies on expanding factor inputs and production sites, instead relies ontechnological progress and the workers quality improve. Thus manufacturing industry mustbe transferred from the traditional labor intensive to knowledge and technology intensive.Implementing innovation is the foundation for achieve this transformation. Given the centralposition of the manufacturing industry in the national economic system and industrial system,the manufacturing industry innovation system has become a decisive factor for our country toachieve long-term competitive advantage. The level of construction and evolutiondevelopment of the manufacturing industry innovation system take the increasingly importantrole in economic growth, the evolution level to some extent determines a country or region’seconomic strength, national defense strength, as well as competition and cooperation in theglobal economy. Therefore, systematic researches the evolution and evaluation ofmanufacturing industry innovation system has important theoretical and practical significance.The thesis includes the following:The first part is the current situation and existing problems of China’s manufacturingtechnology innovation. First, it analyses the content, classification and characteristics of themanufacturing industry; Again, based on indicator data of innovation resources, scientific andtechnological achievements, economic efficiency of large and medium-sized enterprises ofChina’s manufacturing industry from2001to2009, it longitudinal analyzes of the innovationinput and output status quo. Finally, through a literature review and other methods, it analyzesthe main problems of Chinese manufacturing technology innovation.The second part is the evolution research on the Chinese manufacturing industryinnovation system. First, it builds manufacturing industry innovation system from theory,analyzes its content, structure and function, and clears the premise of this study. On this basis,it systematic studies the evolution characteristics of the manufacturing industry innovationsystem: defines its meaning; analyzes self-organization and organization evolutionmechanism; describes the internal and external power of evolution; Finally, from the perspective of manufacturing industry innovative system fragility to explore its relationshipwith the system evolution, including the definition of manufacturing industry innovationsystem; brittle entropy of manufacturing industry innovation system; manufacturing industryinnovation system brittle and evolution analysis.The third part is the duality analysis of the evolution of manufacturing industryinnovation system. First, based on the summary of “ER-XIANG” Theory for System andER-XIANG Dual Theory, analyzes the current research in this area. Secondly, it systematicanalyzes the evolution characteristics of manufacturing industry innovation system, based ondescribing the basic features of evolution, focusing on the “ER-XIANG” characteristics. Then,it characterization analyzes the level of manufacturing industry innovation system evolution,points out that the innovation ability is the characterization of the state level of manufacturinginnovation system evolution, innovation efficiency is the measure of Process level ofmanufacturing industry innovation system evolution. Finally, it elaborates relationship of theevolution process and evolution state of manufacturing industry innovation system.The fourth part is the evaluation of the Chinese manufacturing industry innovationsystem. This part takes the following empirical analysis for Chinese manufacturing industryinnovation system:(1) The evaluation research on the state level of Chinese manufacturingindustry innovation system evolution. According to the directive, scientific, maneuverability,comprehensive principle, it builds a evaluation index system of evolution state level forChinese manufacturing industry innovation system, and uses factor analysis rating methodto make a comprehensive evaluation of evolution state level of the29manufacturing industryinnovation systems from2001to2008.(2) The evaluation research on the evolution processlevel of Chinese manufacturing industry innovation system. It decomposes the manufacturingindustry innovation system into two sub-stage (technology development stage, economictransformation stage), on the basis of considering the relationship between the sub-stage,constructs a two-stage association network DEA model to evaluate overall and sub-stageefficiency of the29manufacturing industry innovation systems from2001to2008; and onthis basis to calculate the correlation coefficient between the two sub-stages, in order toevaluate associated effectiveness degree of the sub-stage of the manufacturing industryinnovation system.(3) The measurement and evaluation on the coordinated development ofChinese manufacturing industry innovation system. It uses fixed-utility model to analyze thecorrelation of evolution state and evolution process of manufacturing innovation industrysystem, it confirms the authenticity of Er-Xiang coordination of the manufacturing innovationsystem; on this basis, it uses the coordination development evaluation model to measure and evaluate the state of coordination evolution of29manufacturing industry innovation systemfrom2001to2008.The fifth part is the development countermeasures of Chinese manufacturing industryinnovation system, which is based on the perspective of evolution state and evolution process.Based on the empirical results of the fourth part, it put forwards to develop countermeasure,which is conform to the needs and the development law of the manufacturing industryinnovation system; it includes the countermeasures to enhance evolution state level of theChinese manufacturing industry innovation system, to enhance evolution process level of theChinese manufacturing industry.
