Research On Integration Of Shanghai Expo Transportation Organization And Management

With the development of economy and improvement of living standards, more and more cities have been or are about to organize large-scale special events. China’s first World Expo held in Shanghai in2010, has become by far the greatest impact World Expo in the world. It promotes the economic development of the host city of Expo activities; however, during a short time and the pooling of traffic demand will lead serious challenges for urban transport.Because of its long duration, the special site location and a large volume of traffic attraction, the traffic organization and management of Expo activities is with greater challenges. How to start with the demand and supply, and give full play the comprehensive advantages of the various modes of transport, traffic organization and management integration, the key is to solve the traffic problems of the Expo. This dissertation analyzes the traffic demand of the Shanghai World Expo activities; traffic organization and management integration are carried out according to its traffic travel characteristics, organizational integration of public transport, ground transportation integration research. The following works are completed in the research.(1) Firstly, Beijing Olympic traffic organization and security programs are researched and analyzed. Aichi Expo transportation system planning and traffic organizational experience are also summarized and analyzed. The successful experience of similar large activities traffic program are summed up for the Shanghai World Expo traffic organization plan reference.(2) To explore the special events traffic demand forecasting methods and technology, traffic prediction models are built for Shanghai World Expo. The Expo traffic demand prediction technology is divided into Expo transportation planning and organizational management programming, services traffic demand forecasting techniques and assessment services judged during the Expo traffic short-term forecasting techniques.(3) In order to make the basic resources and the amount of traffic travel overall match, and promote the general balance of traffic travel Expo traffic group, the Expo transportation planning and organizational integration research are carried out. Three aspects of the overall layouts from the increased traffic resource supply, reduce traffic travel demand and balanced distribution of transportation resources. The implemention includs the Expo transportation support channel layout planning, the Expo traffic restriction measures and Expo traffic information service protection research.(4) Based on analysis of Expo passenger characteristics, it focuses on the the Expo outside public transport organization integration programs, including harmonization of rail transportation, ground transportation, taxi, tourism, transport and water transport, etc. In addition, the traffic integration program within the Expo Park is designed.(5) With the target of integrated management of personal car travel, key consideration of Expo personal integration of traffic travel management is also an important issue, including individual motor vehicle travel forecast, parking planning, parking fare planning program, parking lot traffic guide program.(6) Large passenger traffic emergency warning system is researched, and Expo area passenger environment outside the park and the park traffic emergency measures are developed. Adequate contingency plans for both inside and outside the park in the Expo area provided a guarantee for passenger environment traffic orderly grooming and security of the safeguards.
