Voluntary action is a kind of action based on the expectation of action effect,it is the basic component of sports activities, but also the hot spots of sports research.Voluntary action can affect the sensory perception processing, and one of the special phenomena is called sensory attenuation. However, there are still some problems in the study of sensory attenuation induced by voluntary action.First,it is still controversial whether voluntary action can induce sensory attenuation.Secondly, the reason of attenuation is still unclear. There are two kinds of mutual contradictory hypothesis;finally, the lack of meaning of sensory attenuation induced by voluntary action. Therefore, this study performed a number of behavioral experiments, the sensory attenuation induced by voluntary were explored from the above three aspects, respectively,to answer the following three questions: 1)whether the voluntary action can induce a sensory attenuation of the effects of the action;2)the characteristics and the mechanism of sensory attenuation;3)the meaning of sensory attenuation. It aims to enrich the relevant knowledge in theoretically and how to provide the theoretical reserve for the future practice of guiding the most basic unit of the sport. In study 1 a classical and an improved paradigm with the signal detection theory were performed to confirm voluntary action can induce sensory attenuation;in study 2,the characteristics was investigated by manipulation different time intervals between the action and effects, and the cause of the phenomenon was investigated by subjective report method;study 3 discusses the positive meaning of the sensory attenuation induced by voluntary action.First, through the behavioral experiment, the individual's response to the action effect was investigated.Secondly,by introducing two different voluntary actions in one experiment, the ability to distinguish the effects of two action was tested.(3)In experiment 5,under the condition of voluntary action, the response speed of the subjects was significantly faster than that of the experiment. In experiment 6,it was found that the discriminant d' of the different action effect under the voluntary action condition was higher, the anticipation can not improve the discrimination d ' of different effects.Research conclusion:(1)voluntary action can induce the sensory attenuation of the direction of motion of the object, which is manifested as the decrease of the accuracy of the behavior. This sensory attenuation can only be triggered by voluntary action(2)sensory attenuation induced by voluntary action has an important time window. In the 300 ms before and 150 ms after the implementation of the action,a voluntary action can induce a sensory attenuation.(3)The reason why the voluntary action causes the sensory attenuation is that the voluntary action can cause the corresponding effect to be pre-activated.According to the signal detection theory, the pre-activation can cause the target perception to show the attenuation phenomenon.(4)Sensory attenuation induced by voluntary action may lead to a fast response to the target and improve the ability to distinguish the effects of different voluntary actions.
