The main content of this dissertation is to explain how university-industry cooperation stakeholders integrate into a community, and how to maintain the operation of community. In view of the failure of the government in promoting the industry-university cooperation, this dissertation does not propose that the government should promote university-industry cooperation by non-market administrative means in the name of collaborative innovation, because innovation is a result of subjective autonomy instead of organizational manipulation. Therefore,in line with Bourdieu's field theory, this dissertation regards university-industry cooperation as a relational space rather than an organizational entity for the purpose of removing the barrier in the organizational system and promoting the free flow of innovation factors. With a common interest, the university-industry cooperation parties could merge into a community, which is actually an interest-oriented integration. The reason why university-industry cooperation stakeholder doesn't stay closely with each other is their heterogeneous interest claims haven't combined effectively.Generally speaking, the process of university-industry cooperation can be divided into two phases, namely, relationship liaison and relationship maintenance.Substantially, the two phases is two sides of one coin. There can be no real relationship liaison without relationship maintenance, and vice versa. This dissertation focuses on mechanism of free integration of innovation elements as well as how to sustain long-term innovation relations. Its research subject is university-industry cooperation community, such as innovation alliance and innovation centers, excluding the one-off university-industry cooperation. With the help of the Actor-Network Theory, this dissertation puts forward that the process of stakeholders' merging into a community is a process of translation, which consists of problematisation, interessement, enrollment and mobilization.Translation model can well explain the mechanism and process of university-industry cooperation 'stakeholders' integration. After translation,a community, however, can only be regarded as a primitive community if it does not have new habitus. If community formed a new habitus,it is a senior community. The key for a primary community developing into a mature community is governance.Relying on the polycentric governance theory, this dissertation emphasizes on shaping a new habitus of community stakeholders by both external and internal governance.Innovation depends on the spontaneous order rather than control order or management order.Hence,in terms of external governance, the government should remain outside influence rather than direct effect on the actors.Specific measures include giving high degree of autonomy, developing public forum to promote multilateral negotiation, and improving the equity incentive to protect the legitimate interests. In terms of internal governance, basic guarantee is a high degree of autonomy so that the internal order of the field could be decided by the negotiations between stakeholders but not influenced by external power.Basic requirement of this mechanism is the internal stakeholders have the ability of independent governance, that is to say, they have the eligibility of free behavior. The construction of cooperation mechanism between the stakeholders is crutial, and the ultimate goal is to reach a governance structure of mutual consultation, mutual trust, mutual supervision, and common feelings.
