| In the late Qing Dynasty,with the renaissance of epigraphy,the ancient inscriptions in seal and official script on bronze vessels and stone tablet become important resources for calligraphers and painters to study and absorb with transformation.Li Ruiqing is one of the most representative figures.He inherits collecting rubbings in the tradition of epigraphy and carries out textual research on inscription rubbing.He continues the ideas of Weng Fanggang and Ruan Yuan,which is to verify the transformation of ancient chirography through inscription rubbings.Based on the conception of history in change in Gongyang studies,regard the text remains from Shang and Zhou Dynasties to Sui and Tang Dynasties as a whole history to survey the development of calligraphic style.He learns things throughout the contents and focuses on the discrimination of sources and correctness.Therefore,it realizes the transformation of research on the creative practice on painting and calligraphy.The educational activities in painting and calligraphy are also connected with the features.It provides an excellent example and perspective for us to observe:As traditional knowledge,how did epigraphy transform to the creation of painting and calligraphy,and how to influence the style.In this essay,we will place Li Ruiqing in late Qing Dynasty and the Republican period with epigraphy and the creation of traditional painting and calligraphy.We can analyze Li Ruiqing's academic ideas,artistic style,features,changing process and follow-up influence through collection,research,creation and education.As for the research approach,deeply interpret the primary documents related to the research.Focus on the literature research,investigation about visual data and analysis about features.It is expected to reflect how the traditional intellectual faces the history and tradition in the historic period of significant revolution and the mechanism of innovation. |
