Organizational justice is the basic condition for people to engage in social interaction in the organizational environment.It is the basis for management decision-making and organizational order,and reflects the degree of organizational civilization and humanization.It directly affects employee work behaviors such as work engagement and organizational citizenship behavior,and is also an effective component of organizational incentives,and thus has become a hot issue in the field of organizational behavior.Work ethics is the value beliefs and attitudes of people about work,and it affects individual work behavior in a self-disciplined way.Weber believes that Protestant work ethics(PWE)has played an important role in the development of European capitalism.Work ethics is obviously inseparable from social culture.In different cultural environments,people's work ethics are also different.The Chinese people's hard work and selfless work have become the basis for the survival and development of the older generation of overseas Chinese.Islamic culture is one of the important components of human culture,and it has a profound impact on work ethics.Work ethics is important for self-discipline and strength of employees,while organizational justice is an organizational variable that affects employees' work behaviors.There is a certain interaction between these two to some extent.This study analyzes the three aspects of organizational justice from the perspective of Islamic culture.namely,the distribution justice,procedural justice and interactional justice,the impact on employees' work engagement and organizational citizenship behavior(OCB),and the discussion of Islamic work ethics(IWE).The role played,especially the IWE,affects the way work is invested and the way citizens are organized through fairness and sensitivity.According to the purpose of this dissertation,five studies were designed.In the cities of Peshawar,Islamabad and other cities in Pakistan,1368 nursing staff in the health care industry was investigated using the one-site investigation method.Study one examined the effect of IWE on employees work engagement and OCB.By using cross sectional study design the data were collected from 189 employees working in public hospital(Khyber Teaching Hospital)of Peshawar city of Pakistan.The results indicated the positive effects of IWE on employees work engagement and OCB.Study two examined the impact of organizational justice on OCB as well as examined the moderating role of IWE on the said relationship.By using a cross sectional study design the data were collected from 354 nursing employees working in a public hospital(Hayat Abad Medical Complex)in Peshawar city of Pakistan.The results indicates the positive and direct effect of independent variables(distributive justice,procedural justice and interactional)on the dependent variable(OCB).The study also found the moderating effect of IWE on the relationship between organizational justice dimensions and OCB.Study three examined the impact of organizational justice on employees work engagement.In addition,I examined the moderating effect of IWE on the relationship between organizational justice and work engagement.By using a cross sectional study design the data were collected from 300 nurses working in another big public hospital(Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences)of Islamabad city of Pakistan.The result indicates the positive and direct effect of distributive justice and interactional justice on employees work engagement,while contrary to my expectations procedural justice have indicated no effect on work engagement.In addition,interestingly,I only found the moderating effect of IWE on the relationship between interactional justice and work engagement.Study four examined the mediating effect of work engagement on the relationship between procedural justice and OCB.By using cross sectional study design the data were collected from 245 nurses working in public hospital(Lady Reading Hospital)of Peshawar city of Pakistan.The results suggest work engagement positivelhy mediated the relationship between procedural justice and OCB.In addition,the results also suggest the direct effect of procedural justice on OCB.Study five examined the mediating effect of equity sensitivity on the relationship between IWE and work engagement.In addition,I also examined the moderating role of equity sensitivity on the relationship between distributive justice and work engagement.By using cross sectional study design the data were collected from 280 nurses working in public hospital(Khvber Teaching Hospital)of Peshawar city of Pakistan.The results indicate the positive mediating effect of equity sensitivity on the relationship between IWE and work engagement.In addition.I found no moderating effect of equity sensitivity on the relationship between distributive justice and work engagement.In sum,these five research investigation contributed to the current literature in the following areas of organizational behavior;organizational justice,IWE,employees work engagement,OCB,and equity sensitivity.This study also contributes to better understanding of the significance of ensuring fairness in the workplace and the important role IWE plays in increasing the effect of organizational justice perceptions on workplace behaviors such as work engagement and OCB.
