Although originated from the domain of European physical therapy,functional strength training enjoys great popularity among physical fitness in Euro-market,owing to the enhancement of mobility and stability of joints,control of neuromuscular ability,muscle strength and endurance.After that,it was imported to sports training area in order to improve performance and competitive results of athletes.Adolescence is a key period for the development of human motor system.The intense demand for the promoting of total body function happened to coincide with the substantive characteristics of functional strength training.Differed from only focus on the results of the sports-oriented movement function,functional strength training of youth(FSTY)should pay more attention to maximizing the integrated development of motor system's function.The study on theory and practice of FSTY,currently,is still in the beginning stage in China.Most research focused on theoretic background and development status of functional strength training,and there is also quiet a few study on application effect of some specific sports event.However,nobody kept his mind on a dedicated research in developing a functional strength system which is aiming at meeting the unique feature of physical and mental development of youth,based on the careful analysis of healthy status and deep explore in the major problem of domestic youth's physical fitness situation,then are able to find out the best breakthrough point and opportunity to promote it.Therefore,this paper,by using research methods including literature data method,the survey method,the logic analysis method,the test method,and mathematical statistics method,on the basis of referencing advantages of functional strength training around the world.After using local materials and research methods and combining physical and mental development situation of Chinese adolescent,this research attempted to establish a systematic and effective FSTY system aiming at improvement their physical fitness and preventing sported-related injures.Through in-depth studyaround the organizing of theoretical foundation,construction of training system and practical examination of FSTY,the following conclusion were drawn:(1)Starting from the physical education and sports training point,and with the purpose of exploration of youth's physical fitness development,this research discovered a serious shortage of musculoskeletal system development is the key problem of youth's sports guidance in our nation,by analysis of current situation of Chinese teenagers' physical fitness.Through acquiring and analysis of current situation of world strength training of youth,this paper came up with a new definition for FSTY:by the way of strength training,based on comprehensive analysis of functional development of body motor system of youngsters,FSTY should be emphasis on correct and well-balanced promotion of their nervous,skeletal and muscle system to effectively exert their function,and achieve scientific,comprehensive,secure,sequential,and sustainable development of physical fitness.The application effect of FSTY should not only be shown in the cultivation and acquisition of peak athletic performance,but also makes certain to avoiding the appearance of improper physical development and chronic sports injury.(2)Based on the structural theories including exercise anatomy and physiology,sports biomechanics,neuromuscular theory and the functional theories including motor learning and sports training,combined with the reality demand analysis of motor system development and developmental sequence of physical fitness for youth,this study proposed a set of FSTY system that is systematic,progressive,integrated,and corresponded with long-term development.The FSTY system established a stair-stepping developmental sequence which is structured by Functional Movement Training(mobility and stability)and Neuromuscular Functional Training(health-oriented functional strength and sports-oriented functional strength).The ability of the under layer is basis and requirement of the upper layer,and sufficient buffer space was reserved so as to minimizing sports-related injuries.During the different development period of youth and according to their different characteristics and weaknesses,these four plates and two stages of FSTY system could hold the level of progressive and apply alternately in order to promoting maximized andcomprehensive development of nerve,bone and muscle system of youth,gaining the ability to exert integrated functional strength and finally achieving appropriate connection between health-oriented physical fitness elements and sports-oriented physical fitness elements.(3)In order to test the result of applying FSTY training methods to improve youth's physical fitness,empirical research had been done in the paper.Which was aimed at 12-14 years old youth in the basic training period and acrossing through two semester(the second semester in Grade one and the first semester in Grade two of the junior school).Through experimental research of FSTY training methods in the first phase of FSTY training system for adolescents(12-13y),the study shown that shoulder balance,splay foot,pronation distortion syndrome,core stability weakness and forward-leans struck during dynamic movement is the major problem linking to functional movement of youth.And the total score is slightly higher than injury threshold which was should be alert.By designing and applying the targeted functional movement training program of youth,the research confirmed the improvement effect of it to functional movement competency of adolescence;empirical research of applying neuromuscular functional training in the second phase of FSTY training system had been done to ordinary middle school students(13-14y)also.Which is based on the results of the first research,through controlling and applying neuromuscular functional training which covering 12-weeks and 3 phases to experimental subject.The way of progressive development and design strategies had been explored and experimental effect in the improvement of physical fitness including speed,power,flexibility,and endurance had been gain.Additionally,core strength of youth had been enhanced,which achieved the prevention of low back injuries for adolescence.
