The sense of place is a method of understanding the world formed by geologists in the process of professional research and practical perception for a long time.The skill of cultivating a sense of place has been documented by geologists more than two thousand years ago.Throughout the history of geography,geologists have treated it as a "critical environmental awareness learning skill." It strengthens the sensitivity to change in the world and the understanding of how the world changes.This is corresponding to the scientism geography regards space as the highest position of the research place,the humanism geography regards the place feeling as the highest position.Duan Yifu,a famous humanistic geographer,said in his book Space and place: "when space is known to us and gives it meaning,space becomes a place,a place exists,a sense of place comes into being,and a sense of place comes into being." The place has its identity,and the people who live in it have their own identity." Apart from geologists,architects,psychologists,artists,literary critics,economists,and poets,they all think that a sense of place can make the living environment more beautiful,because it is a bridge linking everyone to the environment.It is a beautiful human-earth relationship,an academic way to understand the place based on local characteristics.In the whole geography teaching,it always revolves around taking the space as the starting point,taking the region as the carrier,taking the local concrete case as the research phenomenon,the analysis and the solution of many problems of geography also return to the discussion of the man-land relation between the region and the place finally.In the whole compulsory education stage,most of them belong to regional geography,and the knowledge of system geography under different scales.The ultimate goal of the research is to cultivate students undefined good sense of place and reach a good common understanding between places and people.Junior high school geography teaching should train students to have a good sense of place and form a good understanding of local characteristics,which is an important issue of fundamental significance in junior high school geography teaching.From the current situation,the level of students undefined local sense is not high.In general,the degree of students undefined mastery of local knowledge,local attachment and local identity all need to be improved.To a certain extent,the low level of local sense means that students will not be very strong in consciously understanding and applying the attitude and consciousness of sustainable development,which will have many adverse effects on the formation of their geographical thinking and emotional attitude and values.On the basis of literature review,this paper analyzes the connotation,composition and content of local feeling,and summarizes it.Through the first-hand information obtained by questionnaire survey,the present situation of local feeling of junior high school students,for example,the level of local feeling,is analyzed.The paper also analyzes the current situation of the cultivation of local sense in the United States and the present situation of the cultivation of local sense in Taiwan Province of China.This paper also analyzes the content of geography curriculum standard and geography teaching materials in compulsory education in China,and analyzes the value of cultivating students undefined local feeling.The article holds that cultivating students undefined sense of place is conducive to improving their understanding of the meaning of geographical space,cultivating the feelings of home and country,forming a good concept of man-land relationship,and better appreciating life.On the theoretical level,this paper defines the concept and content dimension of local feeling from its connotation and characteristics.At the practical level,the present situation of junior high school students undefined local feeling is analyzed by questionnaire.The study found that the overall level of local feeling of junior high school students is not high,the level of local feeling of junior high school students is not high,and the level of local feeling of junior high school students is higher than that of junior high school students.The scores of local identity and local attachment of junior high school students and junior high school students are on the low side.The local knowledge students in Grade two are slightly lower than those in Grade one.Through the investigation of the local feeling scale,it is found that the overall level of local feeling of the first grade students is on the low side,but some students have a particularly low sense of place,and others have a particularly high sense of place.Polarization is more obvious.However,by the time the level of local feeling of junior high school students was raised as a whole,the lowest level of local feeling had been raised,but the highest level of local feeling had disappeared.Regarding the level of local awareness and cognitive style of junior high school students,the overall local level of junior high school students was on the low side.Although the score of local attachment and local identity is on the low side,the understanding is relatively complete.The study also found that the understanding of local attachment of junior high school students,local dependence and local identity with the increase of age,junior high school students in geography class to contact the content of the sense of place is not systematic and scattered,Local cognition is mainly through spatial perception and temporal memory,and local subjective judgment and emotional response decrease with the increase of age.The article also puts forward the concrete strategy of cultivating junior high school students undefined sense of place.For example,in the process of teaching geography teachers pay attention to the teaching of the relationship between the basic knowledge of geography in the same region and the local knowledge,and the comparative teaching of the relationship between geographical knowledge and local knowledge in different regions.To create geography teaching consistent with the process of students undefined motivation system,grasp the local attachment teaching with different scales in different geographical situations,and pay attention to geography experience teaching and so on.This part has carried on the detailed analysis to the junior high school student local sense training goal,as well as the concrete teaching strategy and so on.
