This dissertation, a scholarly reference guide to the life and work of American poet James Arlington Wright, builds upon preceding primary and secondary bibliographies concerning Wright to provide a single, authoritative reference source for scholars and students of this poet's work by correcting previous bibliographers' errors and including important omissions and new items up to 1998. While maintaining the traditional organization of bibliographies into primary works and secondary works, I also have created sections specifically devoted to materials concerning several topics that have not been separately highlighted in previous reference guides on Wright. These unique sections include descriptions of institutional collections of Wright materials, opportunities for editing selected works by Wright, resources on the World Wide Web, and items of use to biographical studies, including interviews and memoirs by friends and family members and published photographs and graphic representations. |
