This thesis takes the image of youth in new media literature represented by network literature as the research object,focusing on the internal relationship between the literary creation in the era of new media and the construction of youth image,clarifying the types of youth images in network literature,and analyzing how new media literature participates in youth image construction.This thesis intends to take the literary field since the era of new media as the research site,the reform of contemporary media in China and the history of contemporary literature as the academic background.In the context of global media integration,this thesis takes a holistic grasp of the development of contemporary Chinese literature according to the issue of "the image of youth in net literature".The thesis will use the method of typological research to sort out the image of youth in net literature in the new media era,select examples of different representative texts for analysis,explore the spiritual characteristics of youth images through close reading of the text,and combine cultural studies,communication studies,and society to comprehensively analyze the internal connection between literary creation and youth formation in the era of new media,grasp the specific influence of media on literary creation and the new narrative characteristics formed,and then explore the multiple possibilities of youth images in new media.This article is composed of three parts: the introduction,the main text and the conclusion.The introduction part explains the origins of the thesis research,clarifies the research object of this thesis,explains the classification standards of the type research,discusses the academic value of the topic,combs out the current research status of the topic,and summarizes the research methods and innovations.The first chapter introduces the internal relationship between literature and youth expression in the new media era,outlines the academic background of this article,analyzes the literary pattern and artistic ecological environment in the new media era,and the internal logic between youth expression and new media technology,and sort out the starting point of the image of the youth image in literary creation in the new media era.The influence of the media technology revolution on literary creation is embodied in two aspects: on the one hand,the new media technology revolution has had a certain impact on the understanding of the ontology of literature.It has expanded the content boundary of the literary pedigree,bringing a broader literary form and diverse literature.More and more literary texts are included in the category of literary research,changing the existing literary ecological pattern,emphasizing the importance of the medium to literature,bringing the concept of compound symbolic literary text back to the horizon,and shaking the origin of literary theory established by traditional literature and art research.New media literature emerged at the historic moment.Chinese contemporary net literature,which has become a big sight,belongs to the new media literature.The production,dissemination,circulation,consumption and other links show another possibility of literary creation in the context of different times;On the other hand,the media revolution provided a platform for the interest-oriented youth groups to express themselves.It is possible for young people to appear and speak in groups,so that the image of "youth" that has long been obscured by collective consciousness reappears with a new type of the power.In 1998,Cai Zhiheng's "First Intimate Contact" became the starting point of net literature in the new media era,and young people also began to construct themselves and literary imagination with the support of the new media.Xing Yusen,Li Xunhuan,Ning Caishen,Annie Baby,etc.,as the pioneers of the new media literature,followed Wang Shuo's style of ruffian literature at the end of the 1990 s,and incorporated the new lifestyle formed by the Internet media into the article,which has sounded the clarion call for self-speaking and imagination of youth groups in the new media literature.The second chapter begins with a chapter-by-chapter discussion of the four faces of young people in the creation of net literature in the new media era.This chapter takes "Wukong's Biography" for example,and discusses how the new media literature rewrites traditional classical literature resources,constructing a group of "rebellious youth" images in the combination of the film and literature.There is an intertextual relationship between the film "Westward Journey" and the literary text "The Legend of Journey to the West ".The " Wukong's Biography " infiltrates the aesthetics of the film and television culture into the literary creation,realizes the translation and mutual infiltration of the media,and then cancels the solemn meaning of the original classic,accelerating the canonization of The Legend of Wukong in the new century.The "rebellious youth" represented by Monkey King uses the playful style of the film and television media,and uses nonsensical narrative strategies to realize another kind of narration of suffering.Monkey King is constructed as the spiritual totem of a new generation of "rebellious youth",which is like a mirror image of the collective self,projecting a generation of young people's resistance to the rigid order,the power mechanisms,and the post-modern society's standardization.This demonstrates the desire and pursuit of the individual and expresses the different way to realize oneself and the reality of the youth community in the new media era.The third chapter analyzes a group of "young people in a small era" by taking Guo Jingming and many youth texts in net literature as examples.In the era of new media,Guo Jingming is an existence that cannot be ignored.On the one hand,his texts began to show the new qualities of new media literature,heralding the budding of new media literature;on the other hand,he creates a nostalgic style.The campus youth writing style lays the foundation for the youth campus type texts in net literature,constructing a group of "small era" youths,participating in the self-imagining of the youth groups in the new media era,and ushering in a "small era" that is different from the grand historical narrative.Although Guo Jingming's text has separated from the narrative of the times and drifted away from history,the image of youth he created reflects the reality of the social atomization of Chinese society in the modernization process.The atomized individuals in the "small era" society are unable to fight against the complex adult society.They can only grasp themselves and the construct their history through the display of old objects and past memories.In a certain sense,The youth of the "small era" is a kind of "nostalgic youth".The emergence of "small era youth" is the product of social atomization and commercialization.They use the logic of capital and their fascination with the past to conceal the structural crisis of contemporary society and avoid their inability to do anything about social contradictions.Therefore,they are Peter Pan who are obsessed with campus.But on the other hand,as a kind of upper class that enters the society but is suspended,the "small era youth" also reflects some writers' perception of the new media era,as another narration of the "Chinese Dream".The writer has shaped a group of exquisite "nostalgic youth" in a highly abstract way,creating a virtual "small era" for them,as a metaphor for a national undergoing the great historical changes.The fourth chapter expounds the image of "hot-blooded youth" depicted in the new media literature.This chapter analyzes the two paths for the formation of "hot-blooded youth".The first is the feelings of the family and the country that have been born under the guidance of the national ideology,which has become an inexhaustible driving force for individual struggles under socialism with Chinese characteristics;the second is the personal ideals bred by the youth subculture represented by the Two dimensions culture inspire the young people to realize their own value in alternative ways.The former has built a group of aspiring young people who are "mainstreaming".They integrate their personal ideals with family and country feelings,and they often coincide with the core values promoted by socialism with Chinese characteristics.They no longer confront the existing value order with a rebellious,deconstructive,and subculture posture,but invisibly promote the popularization of healthy socialist values.The appearance of such a youth image can be regarded as the result of the joint operation of the development of literature itself and the guidance of the ideology.The latter has shaped a group of young people who have found spiritual sustenance in the "two-dimensional" world.Through the analysis of online game novels,this article elaborates on how contemporary young people use new media to realize the construction of self-image and the reshaping of the idealism in the two-dimensional culture.Through the construction process of the "two-dimensional" passionate youth,this article explains how the cross-media integration of the literature,games,animation,etc.affects the self-recognition and psychological development of contemporary youth groups.The emergence of "hot-blooded youth" in the history of new media literature allows us to see the possibility of a return to idealism that was gradually lost in the 1990 s.The fifth chapter discusses the image of "Buddhist youth",starting with the concept of "Buddhist youth" and sociological significance,and expounds the characteristics of "Buddhist youth" in the sociological sense."Buddhist youth" first appeared in the public eye as a sociological symptom,which was highlighted through a large number of "Buddhist" quotations and "emoji packs" and other media."Buddhist youth" is a mixture of negative enterprising,mild resistance and other spiritual temperaments,with a kind of age-old twilight,which characterizes the characteristics of contemporary young people's decline before they get old.The "Buddhist culture" is the product of the confluence of funeral culture,"diaosi culture" and existentialism.The "Buddhist youth" has a certain development in the history of contemporary Chinese literature.It can be traced back to a group of "stubborn masters" in Wang Shuo's writings,opening up a cynical spiritual temperament.Continuing to the era of new media,there have been young people created by Xing Yusen,Ning Caishen and others who are constantly dismantling the classics,mocking the actual order,but struggling between the Ego and the Id.At the same time,we identified another predecessor of the "Buddhist youth" in the "artistic youth" loved by Annie Baby.When the typified writing of net literature began to appear,"Buddhist youth" appeared in different text types in multiple ways of expression.In short,one is to produce a large number of "Fei chai liu" texts with idealized rhetoric;the other is to write "farming essays" in a mirror image description.This chapter combines texts such as "Fei Chai Liu" and " farming essays " to explain how the above two types of literary texts have realized the shaping of the "Buddhist youth".Although the former has expressed the enthusiasm of changing fate,it serves as a literary text of compensatory satisfaction,it can almost be regarded as an idealized rhetorical strategy for the "Buddhist youth",and it has witnessed the deep sense of helplessness of "Buddhist youth" in the real society.The latter,in the trivial and leisurely daily life,contains the readers' yearning and pursuit for a de-competitive and poetic life.The concluding briefly summarizes the research issues,research ideas,and the generation of youth images in the new media literature,outlines the categories of youth images in new media(style)literature,and proposes the shortcomings of the article.Also,it raises the expectation and proposes the direction for the follow-up research.
