Nowadays,the rapid development of civilization,science and technology has provided unprecedented possibilities for the survival of students in schools for the mentally retarded.It has been a universal consensus to respect,pay attention to and understand their survival.Based on the theory of inclusive education and the theory of multiple intelligence,this paper tries to carry out the study by using various research methods,such as participant observation method,questionnaire method,interview method,etc..Taking the education of schools for the mentally retarded education as the main line in study,while concerning the family education and social education,this paper attempts to elaborate more objectively the practical dilemma of survival education for students in school for the mentally retarded in H province from a multi-dimensional perspective,including the goal and concept of survival education,basic knowledge and skills,curriculum and textbooks,and the emotions and attitudes of administrators and teachers.The study has found that current schools for the mentally retarded in H province primarily take students with mental retardation as the target group,and the survival education for the students lays more emphasis on supplementary education.Practical dilemma has been pointed out in study that the distribution of education resources and learning periods is uneven,including uneven distribution of educational resources and learning periods,and that students still face difficulties in enrollment,follow-up security,and survival support of graduates,especially the difficulty in the lack of preschool education and vocational education.The reason is that,different from the needs of families and society,schools for the mentally retarded still exist large gaps in education and teaching equipment,educational goals and concepts,textbooks and curriculum arrangement,quality of teachers and education,etc.,which have not yet been able to meet the needs of the students' inclusive and creative development.At the same time,the unbalance among school education,family education and social education,to a certain extent,restricts the students 'survival validity.Due to the limitations of physical and mental conditions,it is difficult for the students in schools for the mentally retarded to achieve the continuation of school education effect and sociality development without the support of family education and social education.Therefore,the survival education of the students in schools for the mentally retarded not only needs the common support of the school,the family and the society,but also needs the coordination of various departments,such as the medical sector,the China Disabled Persons' Federation,civil affairs department and the financial department,etc.,so as to meet the growth needs of the students,to fully explore and give play to the possible space and conditions of their intelligence,and to further realize the goal and concept of inclusive education,including the concern of equality and differences,actively integrating into society and reexamining the value of human being.It follows then that,the survival education in schools for the mentally retarded is not a pure process of knowledge teaching,but a process of using all education forces to teach students by teachers' own example to influence students' life,and a process “a tree shaking a tree,a cloud to promote a cloud,a soul awaken another soul”.So the schools can best achieve the survival education to every special student substantially,and give prominence to the development of students' social ability to help students look for breakthrough and create a harmonious living space.Survival education is the main way for students in schools for the mentally retarded to acquire survival consciousness and ability.In survival education,all levels of government departments need to work together to support and improve the conditions of it,and the society need to develop the acceptance and provision for employment opportunities to form the long-term support system and then the family need to strengthen and improve the education effect in time.Only by building the cooperation and linkage mechanism of all parties,can we better realize the goal of survival education for students in schools for the mentally retarded,and equip students with the consciousness and ability to serve themselves and the society to integrate in society thoroughly and liberally,and finally realize their value of survival.
