At present,China's economic development has entered a new normal stage.The integration of economic globalization and the rapid development of science and technology have accelerated the upgrading of global information technology.The product life cycle is constantly shortened,the customer needs are varied,and the market environment is unpredictable.The success or failure of an enterprise's competition depends more and more on its ability to introduce innovative products that customers like to the market faster and more effectively than its competitors.Product innovation,as an innovation carrier integrating technological innovation,knowledge innovation,management innovation and market innovation,is an important way for enterprises to gain competitive advantages.As the basis and power source of enterprise product innovation,effective "dynamic" management of knowledge is the key to successful innovation,adaptation to environmental changes and improvement of competitiveness.As an active sublation process of internal values,thinking patterns and outdated knowledge,organizational unlearning can help enterprises to innovate their mental model,dominant logic and cognitive structure,and break through the rigidity of core competence caused by sticking to old conventions and concepts.It is considered to be a very important catalyst for promoting enterprise product innovation activities.Therefore,building an "unlearning-learning organization" is the key for enterprises to update organizational knowledge and maintain innovation vitality in the "nanosecond era".The important role of organizational unlearning in the process of product innovation has also begun to be concerned by scholars,but the relevant theories and empirical studies are still lacking and need to be further enriched.Based on the integration of organizational unlearning theory,knowledge management theory,dynamic capability theory and innovation theory,this study attempts to explore the impact mechanism of organizational unlearning on enterprise product innovation performance from the perspective of dynamic capability,and investigate the moderating role of environmental turbulence in the impact mechanism.Firstly,around the research topic,this paper reviews and summarizes the relevant research on key variables such as organizational unlearning,dynamic capability,product innovation performance and environmental turbulence,so as to form the theoretical basis of this study;Secondly,this study selects four local manufacturing enterprises to carry out exploratory case studies,and explores the logical relationship among organizational unlearning,dynamic capabilities and enterprise product innovation performance through intra/inter case analysis,and puts forward three initial research topics;Thirdly,based on the organizational unlearning theory,dynamic capability theory,knowledge management theory,innovation theory and other related research results,this paper analyzes the relationship between "organizational unlearning-dynamic capability-enterprise product innovation performance","environmental turbulence-organizational unlearning and enterprise product innovation performance" and "environmental turbulence-dynamic capability and enterprise product innovation performance" by reading the literature,theoretical analysis and deduction.Based on the initial theoretical proposition,the research hypothesis is refined,and the theoretical model of this study is constructed;Then,this paper elaborates the design process of the questionnaire,the main content of the questionnaire,the operational definition of variables,the source of measurement indicators and the process of small sample prediction test,and introduces the main research methods in empirical research;Furthermore,this study uses the final questionnaire to issue and collect a large sample of questionnaires.Through descriptive statistical analysis,reliability analysis,confirmatory factor analysis(SEM),correlation analysis,hierarchical regression analysis and other statistical analysis methods,27 research hypotheses proposed in this study were tested with 208 valid questionnaire data,and all 27 hypotheses were finally proved to be valid.Finally,based on the results of the theoretical hypothesis test,this study puts forward a series of research conclusions,summarizes the theoretical contribution of this study,provides a series of guiding management suggestions for the practice of enterprise innovation management,and points out the direction for further improvement of future research on the basis of summarizing some shortcomings of this study.Through the above research,this paper draws the following conclusions:(1)Organizational unlearning has a significant role in promoting product innovation performance of enterprises;(2)Organizational unlearning has a positive effect on enterprise dynamic capability;(3)Dynamic capability is an important internal capability that affects the product innovation performance of enterprises.Organizational unlearning can promote the improvement of enterprise product innovation performance through dynamic capability;(4)Environmental turbulence has a positive moderating effect between organizational unlearning and product innovation performance,and between dynamic capability and enterprise product innovation performance.In general,the conclusion of this paper has made some theoretical contributions to the related research fields:(1)Based on the reverse thinking,this paper introduces the unlearning theory and studies the influence mechanism of organizational unlearning on enterprise product innovation performance from the perspective of knowledge "subtraction".The conclusion reveals the internal mechanism of organizational unlearning on enterprise product innovation performance to a certain extent,expands and enriches the research on the influencing factors of enterprise product innovation performance,and provides a new perspective for the follow-up research.(2)From the perspective of unlearning,this study proposes that the effective management of invalid knowledge within the organization can realize the dynamic and organic renewal of organizational knowledge,promote its efficient absorption of new knowledge,make organizational knowledge commonly used and fresh,and eliminate organizational inertia,which makes a beneficial supplement to the theory of organizational knowledge management.(3)This study introduces dynamic capability as an intermediary variable,and finds that organizational unlearning not only has a direct impact on enterprise product innovation performance,but also has an indirect effect.This conclusion not only verifies the rationality of the research logic of "resource-capability-performance",but also deepens the understanding of the mechanism of organizational unlearning on enterprise product innovation performance,and has a certain reference value for solving the dispute of the current mainstream literature.(4)In the context of China,based on the control of enterprise age,size and industry,this study takes Chinese enterprises as sample data to verify that organizational unlearning has a positive effect on enterprise product innovation performance,and improves the universality of the conclusion.In addition,this study also has verified the positive moderating effect of environmental turbulence between organizational unlearning and enterprise product innovation performance,and between dynamic capabilities and enterprise product innovation performance.It expanded and enriched the situational factor research on the relationship between organizational unlearning and enterprise product innovation performance,which has important theoretical significance.
