China's economic has maintained a sustained and rapid growth since Reform and Opening up,but the transformation of urban-rural dual economic structure(abbreviated as UDES)has obvious lag in time and space. From the perspective of time,UDES has not gradually transformed with economic growth, but has shown a trend of continuous fluctuations and even phased reinforcement. From the perspective of space,UDES in different regions has not been continuously transformed along the same smooth curve. On the contrary, the regional heterogeneity of the transformation of China's UDES is gradually increasing. The significant gap between urban and rural economic development is China's biggest development imbalance, and the serious lag in rural economic development is China's biggest underdevelopment.UDES has become an important bottleneck hindering the high-quality development of China's economy. Therefore, studying the transformation of China's UDES,clarifying the internal linkage mechanism of elements flow, economic growth and UDES transformation, and exploring effective ways to promote the transformation of UDES,has important theoretical value and practical significance for the coordinated promotion of rural revitalization and new urbanization,as well as the realization of integrated urban-rural development. How does the flow of the three elements of labor, land, and capital affect the transformation of UDES?How does the flow of elements affect economic growth? How does the flow of elements affect the transformation of UDES through economic growth? How to promote the transformation of UDES through the combined effect of elements flow and economic growth? These are the core of the research in this article.Focusing on the core of UDES transformation, this article focuses on four aspects of research:(1)Using logical reasoning and mathematical analysis to conduct theoretical research on the relationship between elements flow, economic growth and the transformation of UDES.This article first divides the urban and rural sectors according to industry standards, and defines the core concepts of UDES transformation, elements flow, and economic growth.Secondly, based on the urban-rural dual economic theory, unbalanced growth theory and Kuznets' "inverted U-shaped" hypothesis, this paper constructs a theoretical analysis framework for the transformation of UDES under the dual influence of elements flow and economic growth. Then, this paper proposes a three elements theoretical model based on a dynamic perspective, and analyzes the impact mechanism of the flow of labor, land, and capital on the transformation of UDES.The study finds the conclusions that labor flow could promote the transformation of UDES,and the impact of flow of land and capital depended on of the land value-added income distribution coefficient and the level of rural interest rates. Finally, this article analyzes the indirect impact of elements flow through the transmission of economic growth.Economic growth produces both a polarization effect and a trickle-down effect. When the polarization effect is dominant, the flow of elements inhibits the transformation of UDES through economic growth, and when the trickle-down effect is dominant,it has a promoting effect.(2)Use dynamic panel model, quantile regression model and panel threshold model to empirically examine the effect of elements flow on the transformation of UDES and its nonlinear characteristics. The research finds that the flow of the three elements has a significant impact on the transformation of UDES,and non-linear changes occur with the increase in the degree of elements flow. The flow of labor and land promotes the transformation of UDES,indicating that the marginal productivity of a large number of labor and land in rural areas is almost zero. The inflow from rural areas to cities can give full play to their value, and feed back and promote the development of rural through various channels.Capital flow inhibits the transformation of UDES at the national level and in the eastern region, and promotes it in other regions. The results of the study shows that in order to absorb more labor force in the rural areas in areas with low economic development, there is a phenomenon of capital exclusion, and the outflow of rural capital can narrow the development gap between urban and rural areas. As the degree of elements flow increases, the impact of labor flow on the transformation of UDES shows a dynamic trend of"promotion?suppression?promotion",and the promotion of land flow has changed from "weak" to "significant".The research results show that there are three obvious stages of labor flow:get rid of hidden unemployment steady labor began to flow to promote rural development, labor continued erosion can cause both human capital and material capital loss,in turn, hinder the rural development, labor outflow can further improve the rural capital labor ratio,so as to promote the development of agricultural modernization.(3)Using spatial Dubin model, intermediary effect model and moderating effect model to empirically examine the influence of elements flow on economic growth and its transmission path. The research finds that the flow of elements directly affects economic growth, and at the same time has an indirect impact on economic growth through changes in industrial structure. From the central, western and national levels, labor flow restrains economic growth. The research results show that agriculture in these regions is still laborintensive, and labor is a key element affecting agricultural development.Labor outflow has a negative impact, while the eastern and northeastern regions has a high degree of agricultural mechanization, and labor outflow can promote economic growth. From the perspective of the eastern, northeastern and national levels, capital flows inhibit economic growth. The results of the study show that capital is an important element in the agricultural development of these regions, and capital outflows have a negative impact. However, due to the existence of capital exclusion in the central and western regions, capital outflow can actually promote economic growth.Land flow promotes economic growth in different regions, which proves that land flow is an important pillar supporting China's economic growth. At this stage, the rationalization of industrial structure inhibits economic growth, and the advanced industrial structure promotes economic growth. The flow of labor, land, and capital all has an indirect impact on economic growth through the transmission effect of industrial structure changes.(4)Using the spatial Dubin model, the intermediary effect model and the panel threshold model to empirically test the intermediary effect and nonlinear characteristics of economic growth between the flow of elements and the transformation of UDES.The research finds that economic growth has a significant intermediary effect, and there is a non-linear relationship between the flow of elements and the transformation of UDES in the process of economic growth. From a national perspective, the polarization effect of economic growth is dominant, and economic growth inhibits the transformation of UDES.Through the transmission of economic growth, the role of labor flow in promoting the transformation of UDES has been reinforced, and the role of land flow in promoting the transformation of UDES has been weakened. The results of the study shows that economic growth driven by land cannot ensure that farmers share the benefits of land appreciation fairly, which is not conducive to the convergence of the urban-rural economic development gap. From a regional perspective, the trickle-down effect of economic growth in the eastern and central regions dominates. The flow of labor in the eastern region and the flow of land in the central region further reinforces their role in promoting the transformation of UDES through the conduction effect of economic growth. The transmission path of economic growth in the western and northeastern regions is not significant. In the process of economic growth, the impact of capital flow on the transformation of UDES has a changing trend of "promoting first and then restraining".In the early stage of economic growth, the labor force is a key element affecting agricultural development. In order to absorb more labor force to stay in the countryside, capital exclusion will occur, and the utilization rate of capital in the countryside is low. Therefore, capital outflow promotes the transformation of UDES.When economic growth reaches a certain level, the degree of agricultural mechanization needs to be improved, and capital becomes a key element affecting the development of agricultural modernization At this time,if capital continues to flow out,it will inhibit the transformation of UDES.Based on the above researches, this article has done innovative works in the following three aspects:(1)Constructing a theoretical analysis framework for the transformation of UDES under the dual influence of elements flow and economic growth. This paper systematically analyzes the direct effect of elements flow and the indirect effect through economic growth in the process of transformation of UDES.(2)Based on the model with the form of Cobb-Douglas production function, this paper introduces the land, and constructes a mathematical model of the impact of the flow of labor, land and capital on the transformation of UDES from a dynamic perspective. This paper expandes the research perspective of the influence of element flow on the transformation of UDES,which accords with the economic practice of "seeking development with land" in China.(3)Using exploratory spatial data analysis method to verify the spatial autocorrelation and spatial dependence of China's UDES transformation. This paper uses spatial Dubin model and mediating effect model to explore the extent to which elements flow and economic growth influence the transformation of UDES within a region, and how to produce spatial spillover effect between regions.China's UDES is still very significant, residents of urban and rural can not effectively and relatively evenly share the fruits of economic development. As a result, the desirability and sustainability of economic growth is severely challenged. Therefore, the balance of elements flow and the inclusiveness of economic growth should be continuously improved to promote the transformation of UDES.It is not only an important measure to expand effective domestic demand and promote high-quality economic development under the"Double Cycle" new development pattern, but also the only way to ensure that urban and rural residents share the fruits of economic development equally and promote common prosperity of all people.
